I have consulted with many men who have noticed their lives and relationships are not as they hoped.
Many of us are striving to be the best person we can. Sometimes we lose connection with that person and the satisfying, and enriching, often preferred life seems out of reach or only for others. We can have this preferred life. It's possible! Sometimes experiences of trauma, adversity and pain form stories around us that recruit us into thinking we can't. Some stories can even invite actions we regret that can separate us from people we care about, even from who we would prefer to be. Examining these ideas and stories in therapy can free up new ways of thinking and living for more fulfilling and joyful lives.

Hi, I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support isn’t always easy, and I want to acknowledge the courage it has taken to get this far. Whether you're feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, or simply looking for a space to reconnect with yourself, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

I work with clients who have experienced complex trauma, relationship difficulties, or patterns of emotional pain related to their relationships or family.
I support adolescents and adults who are tired of living in survival mode and are ready to create real, lasting change. Many of my clients face trauma, PTSD, BPD traits, neurodivergence, anxiety, eating-disorder patterns, domestic violence, grief or ongoing crisis that has left them overwhelmed and disconnected from themselves. My approach is steady, grounded, and practical. I help clients regulate their nervous system, understand their patterns, and rebuild a sense of safety within themselves. Together, we work toward clarity, stability, and a life defined by self-trust rather than fear or chaos. Just begin - the rest will follow!

Need help to increase self love and begin having healthy relationships?
Have you been trapped in overthinking? Perhaps distracting/numbing the discomfort and seeking temporary 'band-aid' solutions or techniques? I believe in order to access the deeper levels of self, we must create opportunities to creatively explore the unconscious and bodily responses to understand the discomfort in order to dissolve it.

Some of these needs may include issues with sexual difficulties, gender or sexual identity, intimacy, pleasure, mismatched libido, desire discrepancies, intimate pain and other relationship struggles just to name a few.
Working with a Gestalt framework, Alana focuses on a here and now embodied approach that cultivates the connection between the mind-body. I integrate emotional regulation, psychoeducation, reflective exploration, brief interventions, and strengths-based approaches to support anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction, relationship challenges, emotional burnout, and life transitions within a culturally responsive and psychologically safe space.
Hi, let's wiggle you out of this loop. Your chest knows before your brain does. If your body is still running a threat response for something that's already over. That's not a character flaw; it's a pattern. And patterns can be interrupted. I work online with adults navigating anxiety, trauma responses, grief, addiction patterns— often all at once. My approach is person-centred first, drawing on CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing where they're useful, following your lead, not a formula. All sessions online. If this landed; it's probably worth a conversation. :)

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
