You know relationships are important. When they are not working out, the pain can be overwhelming. You feel stuck because as a trained helping professional you expect more of yourself and your partner. It is so difficult to even begin to consider getting help when you also work in health care or mental health! It is not like you are willing to see just anyone! You know the research tips to improve the relationship, but you just can't seem to apply them at home. That hurts! You understand it might have something to do with a difficult past or trauma but that does not help you to manage the conflict. You start to feel despairing.

There are times we find ourselves experiencing low mood, anxiety and stress from life and the challenges it brings within our personal and relationships with others. Some of these challenges put us in a state of emotional dysregulation, numb from reality, overwhelmed with a mix of emotions that takes away the joy of the present moment and the future to come. I hope that we can work together to gain a deepened understanding of the challenges impacting you and your life and find practical ways to bring changes in your life.

People often arrive with a cocktail of symptoms, including Depression, Anxiety, Anger issues, substance abuse, etc.
Most therapists aren't specifically trained in trauma, and many who are may rely on just one trauma-specific technique within a general talk therapy framework. I do things differently. Trauma therapy is what I specialize in. I’m trained in multiple trauma-specific methods as well as Neuropsychotherapy, so I can adapt the work to meet your unique nervous system and needs, not the other way around. Take the first step towards healing from Trauma, reducing Anxiety and Depression, and enhancing your quality of life.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, difficulties with addiction or recovery, and challenges with anger or emotional regulation.
My ideal client is an adult experiencing anxiety, emotional distress, or feeling unsettled during a life transition. They may be managing work, relationships, or recovery on the surface while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally. Many have a history of complex stress, trauma, or mental health challenges and want support that feels grounded, respectful, and non-judgemental. Their goal is to better understand themselves, feel more emotionally steady, and reconnect with their values and sense of agency.

I get it. You're struggling with balancing work and life and trying to make sense of how to not be so frustrated and angry about the state of your world when it all seems too much. Then trying to explain it all to someone (perhaps your partner) when it gets too much but who can only offer a sympathetic nod or unhelpful advice such as 'just get over it' or 'you're being dramatic!' (which rarely helped in the history of advice!). The problem is not having space or the ability to try and untangle your thoughts amidst trying to just stay afloat in an ever-increasing complex world with competing demands on your attention and sanity.

Hi there, I’m a psychotherapist, EMDR therapist and clinical mental health therapist (social work) offering both in-person sessions in Bulimba and online. I believe therapy begins with connection. The trust and safety you feel with your therapist create the foundation for meaningful change. It’s from that place that feeling truly supported, nurtured, empowered and more connected to yourself can begin. If you're looking for someone who brings genuine presence, curiosity, and the ability to sit with your vulnerability, strengths, and complexity with care, then you're in the right place.

I offer online therapy across Australia. My approach is person-centred, trauma informed and deeply relational. I believe that the psychological sufferings we experience stem from relationships, and only in relationships can be explored, processed, and organised differently. Sometimes we try hard to be different to fit with others and in this world, and as a result we might suffer even more and feel isolated. The relationship with my clients can be a safe place where they can try more authentic and spontaneous ways of being, until they feel safe enough to bring their real self in their relationships and in the world.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
