I like to help people who are anxious to be helped. You nudge a ball in their direction and they see its value. Instantly they pick it up and run with it. I also enjoy people who are keen to try strategies that will work for them. A sharp imagination and a good sense of humour helps keep anxiety at bay and is a great assist in using hypnosis.

I integrate emotional regulation, psychoeducation, reflective exploration, brief interventions, and strengths-based approaches to support anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction, relationship challenges, emotional burnout, and life transitions within a culturally responsive and psychologically safe space.
Hi, let's wiggle you out of this loop. Your chest knows before your brain does. If your body is still running a threat response for something that's already over. That's not a character flaw; it's a pattern. And patterns can be interrupted. I work online with adults navigating anxiety, trauma responses, grief, addiction patterns— often all at once. My approach is person-centred first, drawing on CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing where they're useful, following your lead, not a formula. All sessions online. If this landed; it's probably worth a conversation. :)

I often work with people who feel stuck in cycles they’re struggling to break — whether that’s challenges with alcohol and other drugs (AOD), ongoing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, or trauma, or the experience of navigating identity, belonging, and relationships within the LGBTIQ+ community.

Whether you are navigating the complexities of mental health adversities, grief and trauma, relationship struggles, identity challenges, or cultural tensions, I offer a safe, collaborative, and engaging conversational space where your stories, experiences, and insights become the raw materials and building blocks for the emergence of new possibilities
Therapy is not about coping with it, managing it or fixing it. It is about understanding, exploring, and opening up to new possibilities. It is the fertile ground for generating new meanings.

Every client is seen as an individual whether they come to counselling alone in a couple relationship or part as of a family.
My understanding of a wide scope of issues is informed by many years in social work, in counselling and through lived experience. Most of my clients come via word of mouth from former or current clients. Clients can always expect to be shown respect, never judged & never be told what to do. All people have individual needs, problems and therefore ways in which they are worked through. When clients feel no hope, I hold the hope for them. Life can be more than difficult sometimes and it is important to realise that seeking help is a sign of strength.

Couples Counselling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
