Research has shown that the therapeutic relationship is the strongest predictor of therapeutic success.
I am a person-centred psychologist with deep care, warmth, respect and hope for everyone I work with. I am passionate about going beyond helping clients simply cope with their difficulties, and rather, want to assist to address the underlying issues and traumas that contribute. My ultimate goal is to help clients heal, recover, grow and thrive.

I am passionate about treating the root cause of an issue a client presents with, whether that be anxiety, depression, relationship issues and/or self-esteem, as opposed to treating the mere symptoms.
We are all searching for the same universal experience, one which will ultimately provide us with a sense of meaning, peace, awe and joy. Conditioned patterns of thinking or challenging life events have the potential to throw us off kilter. However, even amongst the chaos, there is always potential for a life of fulfilment, hope and purpose. I offer (online counselling across Australia) practical evidence based and Solution Focused Psychological Therapy across a diverse range of issues tailored for women. To enhance well-being, I work holistically, incorporating the entire spectrum of the human being including; mind, body and soul.

I love helping professional couples reconnect with each other and learn the communication skills to rebuild their relationship .
You know relationships are important. When they are not working out, the pain can be overwhelming. You feel stuck because as a trained helping professional you expect more of yourself and your partner . It is so difficult to even begin to consider getting help when you also work in health care or mental health! It is not like you are willing to see just anyone! You know the research tips to improve the relationship , but you just can't seem to apply them at home. That hurts! You understand it might have something to do with a difficult past or trauma but that does not help you to manage the conflict. You start to feel despairing.

I love working with individuals, couples and families, helping them through life's tricky moments.
I have been a counsellor for the past 20 years and I am passionate about helping people to grow and develop their sense of self. I recently qualified in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice and I see Family Therapy as a game changer in terms of moving individuals and families through problems, quickly. I take a strong position in being authentic, non-judgemental and transparent. The relationships that make up our world are important and are informed by the relationship we have with ourselves. Great mental health is the most precious thing we possess and we need to take time to cherish, nourish and protect it.

I am an experienced non judgemental practitioner who works predominantly with couples who love each other but don't have the skills to create healthy positive connections.
I work with clients from all walks of life who have a burning desire for change. They want to release the past and step into the life which is no longer limited by the unhealed in their past. They might walk through my door with a range of issues ranging from anxiety , self esteem, relationship issues etc but their needs and wants are not much different. They are seeking a life which is of their choosing. They want a life which is of their making. They want a sense of control and connectedness with self and others. My clients are tired of repeating the same behavioural patterns and expecting a different outcome.

I am trained as an individual, couples , group and family therapist.
Clients who engage with me are committed to personal growth and are seeking an individual who can often just be a witness to their reality. Personal growth requires courage, courage to be honest and courage to admit that there are certain components in our lives we are unable to change. I have been privileged to be part of the self-actualization journey of numerous individuals over the years and I have come to understand that we all have the ability to evolve. Therapy is not for the faint hearted yet it is one of the best investments in yourself you will ever make.

As a woman who has struggled with self-worth, I have experienced the transformative power of a trusting, collaborative and invigorating woman to woman therapeutic relationship .
I feel passionately about providing a safe space for my clients to talk, feel, explore, develop skills and ultimately to heal. Many of us are carrying painful memories, anxious thoughts, difficult emotions and unhelpful patterns of behaviour. I believe when you find someone you can connect with, you can begin the process of healing and developing not only better relationships with others but with yourself. If you're looking for someone to accompany you on that journey, I would consider it an honour to be your companion.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
