If coming in person, there is plenty of parking, or central accessibility by public transport.
Welcome! I am a Clinical Psychologist working in Hindmarsh, Adelaide. I have a passion for supporting people who find themselves stuck in repeated cycles or patterns of critical self talk, relationship challenges, difficulty expressing themselves or struggling to prioritise their own needs, even when they want to. If this sounds familiar, I can understand how difficult going through this can be, and I'm here to help. I will take the time to truly understand you so that I can offer an individualised approach, one that works towards your goals and allows you to be more like the person you want to be.

From the first session, whether in person or via secure telehealth, we’ll work together to keep therapy purposeful and grounded, so you can build insight, confidence and momentum, at a pace that feels right for you.
I can help work through complex emotional, work, and life challenges with clarity and care. Together, we will focus on what matters most, build practical coping skills, and support steady, meaningful change. Having spent half my professional life outside psychology, I understand how everyday work, relationships, and responsibilities can quietly unravel.

I have spent half of my professional life working with people. This translated into a desire to help people in need, which led me to studying psychology and counselling. I believe, the most important skill for a counsellor is to strive for connection, assisting the client with their life issues or questions. My aim is to listen, connect and provide that support on a journey of healing or change.

Available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in-person in North Adelaide or online.
I'm looking to connect with individuals who are on a journey of introspection, exploration and unpacking thoughts, feelings and experiences. We will be working towards long-lasting change where the root cause of an issue can be addressed and processed. Each treatment is uniquely tailored to your specific needs and thus the therapeutic style is non-manualised and not necessarily focused on reaching outcomes/end results, but rather on the process of therapy and its unfolding nature. Having said that, our process always aims to foster meaningful change and lasting outcomes.

Life brings many challenges, and I am interested in helping my clients grow and thrive in the face of these challenges. I have a particular interest and passion in working with clients with anxiety. I help them initially to understand how the brain functions in an anxious state and then together we discover what is important to them and we work towards achieving their goals. In relationship counselling, I use counselling practices that assists each partner to be heard and validated. I work with both partners to identify negative behavior patterns and assist them to learn new ways of interacting to regain their sense of connection.

I offer sessions online on Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri, and in person at Varsity Lakes on Thursdays (9:30am - 4:30pm) and Friday afternoons.
Are you seeking Schema Therapy so you can explore the lifelong schemas that cause stress at home and work? Schemas such as unrelenting standards, self-sacrifice, emotional deprivation, abandonment and approval-seeking undermine our confidence, our mood and our wellbeing. The clients I see are aware that they have patterns that are not working for them at home, in their relationships and in their family life but don't know how to shift them. Schema Therapy improves the way we relate and 'talk' to ourselves, which creates a ripple effect on our self-esteem, our sense of purpose in life, our core values, and our key relationships.

My approach to therapy is client centered and outcome informed. Outcomes are measured at the beginning of each session using a brief questionnaire about how you have been coping in the previous week. Therapy will focus on those things that have challenged your coping skills. At the end of each session, I use another brief measure to rate how the session was for you. Did you feel heard, respected, and understood; did we talk about what you wanted to talk about, and was my approach a good fit for you? This feedback is important for me to tailor sessions to your needs.

My approach is client centered- holistic with the client’s emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing the focus of my sessions. I believe in a mind-body connection and understand the power in releasing emotion that we often store in our bodies when it doesn’t feel safe to express. This can be the result of trauma or life experience or that prevents us from living with a sense of stability or peace and often without the ability of knowing what to do with these big emotions. Children especially struggle with this, and Art therapy provides them with the opportunity to express these feelings without the pressure of using words.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
