If where you are feels uncomfortable, that you feel challenged, stressed and possibly without direction or meaning I am able to guide you through those states. Where you unfold naturally your next best steps to take. You may have ailments that frustrate and inhibit your everyday living and live in fear that can often make no sense, however this can be gotten through. And where you feel empowered and worthy on your path in life.

You know relationships are important. When they are not working out, the pain can be overwhelming. You feel stuck because as a trained helping professional you expect more of yourself and your partner. It is so difficult to even begin to consider getting help when you also work in health care or mental health! It is not like you are willing to see just anyone! You know the research tips to improve the relationship, but you just can't seem to apply them at home. That hurts! You understand it might have something to do with a difficult past or trauma but that does not help you to manage the conflict. You start to feel despairing.

At times, we all feel lost, lack motivation and direction and feel stuck. Our minds sometimes feel foggy and can't seem to gain clarity about the future which is causing stress and overwhelm. While this is normal for us occasionally, it can steer us out of control the longer it is left untreated. We need to become self-aware of our thoughts, emotions and behaviours so that we can manage and control what is happening and take responsibility for wanting more...more control to manage our thoughts and fears...more strength and courage to be the person we want to be...happy and resilient. I have proven strategies and guidance for you.

EMDR Therapy for anxiety, trauma, grief, and self-esteem. You might feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by the belief that you’re “not good enough.” Maybe you still feel responsible for things that happened in your past, or carry resentment from times when life felt unfair. Trauma may have left you feeling powerless, unsafe, or like you’re no longer in control of your own story. Grief may have changed your world in ways others can’t see, leaving you feeling isolated or like you should be “over it” by now. Anxiety and stress might be building as you try to hold it all together.

Connecting to your wildness is not a luxury but essential to your spirit. I see therapy as a collaborative process of remembering who you are beneath the layers of conditioning that have told you to be smaller, quieter, more palatable. With me, therapy is a shared journey of returning to your body's innate wisdom and capacity for healing. Many of the clients I work with have a history of trauma, PTSD & find themselves in my counselling space after struggling for years. Struggling to live in a world that doesn't seem to be making sense anymore. Along with this, comes grief and loss from living in these polarising, collapsing times.

You don’t have to stay stuck—change is absolutely possible, and it starts with understanding yourself. Whatever you're struggling with—anxiety, low self-esteem, the pain of a breakup, or a stressful work situation—I can help you heal, reconnect with yourself, and gain practical tools and strategies to move forward with clarity, confidence, and connection. While I know what I’m saying probably sounds like a lot of other therapists—and on paper, it is!—but in person, it’s entirely different. This work is deeply relational, and finding the right fit matters. If you feel I might be a good one, why not reach out and say hello? :)

I work with children and adults to help them live a happier life. There is no issue too small, if it is impacting your life in a negative way, that is a problem I would be happy to help you overcome. Often people believe that problems like anxiety and depression will just go away on their own, however, unfortunately it usually just becomes stronger without support. CBT therapy offers proven tools and techniques to overcome issues like anxiety and depression and get back to the best version of yourself. I have used CBT therapy myself to overcome my own anxiety and I have not looked back since.

12-25 year olds seek me out when they are struggling with worries of life that are limiting their potential. Many battle self- doubt and thoughts like, "I'm not good enough / pretty enough" or "I can't do that" or "I'm stupid"; ...and comparing self to others is a BIG TRAP. Science shows us that we are all unique in so many ways (finger & retina print, DNA, eye & hair colour, body shape, family structure, school/home/work/world-experience etc) so why do we torture ourselves by making comparisons to others??? YOU ARE PERFECTLY YOU.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
