I work with adults aged 18 and over who are experiencing a range of psychological challenges; from existential concerns, recurrent relationship difficulties and identity exploration, to mental health conditions such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, Dissociative Disorders, Personality Disorders, Chronic Depression, Eating Disorders, and Somatisation.
My therapy approach is from a relational perspective, informed by the Conversational Model of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and integrates specialised approaches such as EMDR. This allows me to support clients dealing with a wide range of experiences. I am a clinical member of the Australia and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy (ANZAP), an Accredited Consultant with the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA) and an Accredited member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Faculty of Psychotherapy.

I am highly passionate about working with young people & my own queer community, including other gay men, gender diverse & HIV positive folk, as well as all people from minority groups or diverse cultural backgrounds, including neurodiverse folk & people with a disability. As members of marginalised populations, we often share that sense of shame (as well as pride!) that comes with not living up to the dominant culture's expectations of 'normal'. Queerphobia, racism, ableism, sexism, toxic masculinity, minority stress, micro-aggressions, internalised shame & identity concerns are often daily experiences for many of us.

I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, additonally relationship, work and injury issues.
I have spent half of my professional life working with people. This translated into a desire to help people in need, which led me to studying psychology and counselling. I believe, the most important skill for a counsellor is to strive for connection, assisting the client with their life issues or questions. My aim is to listen, connect and provide that support on a journey of healing or change.

Many people living with complex trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, and the impacts of LGBTQIA+ minority stress come to therapy believing there is something "wrong" with them. We can struggle for a lifetime in our attempts to "fix" ourselves and our lives. But what if the basic premise isn't true? My practice is grounded in the belief that you have responded to your life exactly as anyone else would, given what you've been through. In our work, I'll support you to understand this impact, identify the resources you already bring, develop new approaches if needed, and keep your life pointed in the direction of what truly matters to you.

You may be someone who feels things deeply and notices more than most people around you. On the outside you may appear capable and coping, yet internally feel anxious, overwhelmed, or drained from carrying more than you let on. You might find yourself overthinking interactions, absorbing other people’s emotions, or struggling to set clear boundaries in relationships. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, empathic, and often intuitive individuals who want to better understand themselves, feel calmer in their own nervous system, and develop a stronger sense of where they end and others begin.

Hi! I'm Meg, and I'm a proudly neurodivergent (Autistic and ADHD) member of the LGBTQIA+ community who discovered my neurotype later in life – an experience that fundamentally changed how I understand both myself and the field of psychology. Like many late-diagnosed neurodivergent folks, I spent years wondering why things that seemed easy for others felt impossibly hard for me, and why I had to work so much harder. My own journey through mental health challenges, chronic illness, being misdiagnosed and wrongly medicated, along with late diagnosis has given me a deep, personal understanding of what my clients need.

I began working in the early 2000's, supporting individuals impacted by addiction trauma, anxiety, depression, sexual & domestic violence, family separation, grief & financial strain.
You may have tried to change — or tried therapy before — and found that talking hasn't been enough. Something in you knows what you're carrying goes deeper than stress or bad habits. Perhaps addiction, trauma, or painful patterns keep pulling you back and you don't fully understand why. Maybe life feels heavy, relationships are strained, or you've lost your sense of self. You might feel ashamed, exhausted, or simply stuck. You don't need to have it figured out to reach out. You just need to be ready to look a little deeper. That readiness is enough.
