About

Dr Ruth Armstrong is a Clinical Psychologist who provides assessments and therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She specialises in the treatment of trauma. She provides a range of interventions and is an accredited Consultant in EMDR therapy (EMDRAA) with extensive training and experience in this treatment approach.
Treatment available for issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, sleep difficulties and phobias. Assessments and reports provided for medico-legal purposes such as fitness to plead; witness competency (children under the age of five years when the trauma happened); pre-sentence reports etc
Currently taking new clients and from 14 March 2023 online consultations only (Telehealth). Medicare rebate of $131.65 available with a doctor’s referral.

  • Training: Clinical Psychology: Masters degree from University of Queensland; Doctorate in Clinical Psychology / 2008
Accredited Consultant in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy (EMDRAA). Trained in EMDR in the UK in 1999.
