I work with all ages, and with couples. My approach brings together emotion, mind, body and sensory approaches, utilising a range of strategies and interventions such as: Polyvagal theory; somatic psychotherapy; cognitive approaches and EMDR. I have worked with clients struggling with emotional expression, anxiety, depression, OCD, gender and sexuality, neurodivergence, trauma and children with behaviour struggles. Each individual is the expert in their own lives and has within them the capacity for growth and healing, but sometimes it can be helpful to have someone walking alongside, supporting the development of insights.
I have post-graduate qualifications in developmental trauma and counselling & psychotherapy and am a published author. I have a longstanding interest in trauma and it's impacts. My experience tells me that the understanding of somatic (body) and stress responses alongside cognitive approaches are a path to healing, and understanding self.
I work with clients for different amounts of time, from single sessions to long term psychotherapy. I enjoy working across the life-course, and have a strong interest in: trauma; anxiety; children's mental health; neurodivergence; parenting; and LGBTIQA+ mental health. I welcome diversity and always aim to be neuro-affirming.
