With 15 years of experience as a counsellor, I support teens and adults who are navigating life’s major transitions. I work with all forms of grief and loss, including death, separation, identity shifts, adoption, and the often-unspoken impacts of abortion for both men and women. I support young people, parents and caregivers, and individuals seeking clarity in their relationships, whether navigating new connections, long-term partnerships, or endings that no longer fit. I also work with those feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what comes next during times of change.

I offer therapy in-person or online via Zoom.
I am a psychotherapist working with the Gestalt approach. I provide trauma-informed and body-positive therapy to preteens, teens and adults. My priority in working together is to co-create a safe and supportive space in which you are seen and deeply listened to, and to offer therapy that is relational, creative and present-focused. I also bring in embodied recovery (somatic) techniques which I find can be very helpful for building resilience and resetting the nervous system.

Sessions in-person in Brisbane (West End) or online Australia-wide.
You've been through the system - therapists, medications, programs. Maybe you're labelled "treatment resistant" or "complex." Perhaps you're a young person self-harming, or an adult with trauma that CBT hasn't touched. You've tried being the good patient but compliance hasn't brought healing. You need someone who sees your symptoms as survival strategies, not pathology. You want to be understood, not just managed. You seek genuine relationship where all parts of you are welcome - even the parts called "too much." You want to feel whole again and find new ways of being that actually work.

Hi, I'm Meg. I like to help people with the deeper currents in their life. The ones that are a little stubborn and won't budge through intellectual understanding alone. Sometimes these are threads to past experiences needing more attention, or ways we've adapted to social pressures where there's scope for us to respond more authentically. Using a somatic approach, I can help you connect with the felt sense of these experiences and adaptations. Through deeper emotional processing it becomes possible to make changes you've been hoping for.

I offer 50min sessions in person or online.
I’m a therapist with a deep curiosity about how we understand ourselves. My work is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, with an integrative approach that includes music and talk therapy. I support adults navigating anxiety, identity, emotions, and relationships, helping reduce 'stuckness' and build more meaningful ways of relating. With a background in disability and mental health, I see all behaviour as communication. I offer a thoughtful, collaborative space to explore patterns, deepen self-understanding, and create lasting change within a safe, trusting connection.

In-person and telehealth appointments are available during the week and after-hours, including Saturday.
I work with individuals aged 16 and over and couples experiencing a range of emotional and relational challenges that can leave life feeling difficult to endure or change. My way of working tends to resonate with those who feel a quiet pull to understand themselves more deeply, and with those who sense that their relationships—both with themselves and others—could hold more ease and coherence. I offer a thoughtful and individualised approach, attending not only to symptoms or struggles but to the particular texture of each person's inner world.

In person and on Zoom if needs be.
If you need help unpacking what the hell is going on. If you know you nearly have it worked out but for these things that keep getting in the way. If you think you are OK but it is all those pesky family, work mates, or colleagues who drive you nuts. If you have had more diagnoses than help, more good ideas flung your way than anything concrete, then perhaps you could pay me a visit. I pride myself in having no long-term clients because I do what I say, and I do not turn you into a professional therapy clients or perpetual victim of life. I get curious in why you have come, what you want for yourself, what success might look like.

I offer sessions online or face to face at 69 Thomas Street, West End, Brisbane.
People come to me because they’ve never felt fully understood in mainstream services, as they identify as LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, or from refugee and multicultural backgrounds. I counsel people of all genders, as well as those in non-traditional relationships such as polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, Kink/BDSM communities, and sex workers. I support clients who feel deeply, are easily triggered, are navigating life with trauma, think differently, or live at the intersection of multiple identities — including those with mental health diagnoses, as well as couples and families seeking a space where their complexity is understood.

I work with adults who feel stuck — people who’ve tried to change and found that knowing what to do hasn’t been enough. Often there’s a longer story underneath: patterns that formed early, a sense of self disrupted by illness, loss, or recovery, or a life that looks manageable from the outside but doesn’t feel that way from within. I work particularly well with addiction and recovery, dual diagnosis, trauma, major life transitions, and questions of identity. I’m comfortable with complexity and with people who haven’t found other approaches helpful.

Eco-therapy in person session available in Brisbane
Therapy doesn't always have to take place within four walls. For some people, being outdoors makes it easier to slow down, breathe, and begin talking about what feels difficult. This is why I offer walk-and-talk therapy in natural outdoor settings, alongside online sessions, giving you the opportunity to choose the environment that feels most comfortable and supportive. I offer integrative psychotherapy for adults and young people aged 14 and over. My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and grounded in an understanding of the connection between the mind, body, and nervous system.

I have been working as a psychologist delivering one-on-one therapy for over five years, and this is the work I truly love to do. My core values as a therapist are compassion, empathy, authenticity, and humanity. I draw from my own lived experience of being neurodivergent (AuDHD+), having recovered from a restrictive eating disorder, and struggling to find support that truly fit. I have a particular interest in working with complex, intersecting issues (i.e., trauma, eating disorders, and neurodivergence) and minority groups (LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, First Nations).

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
