My ideal clients are adults carrying the impact of trauma, narcissistic or emotionally abusive relationships, or ongoing anxiety and relational or workplace stress. You might feel stuck, overwhelmed, or triggered by patterns you can’t quite shift alone. I help people make sense of what’s happening, strengthen boundaries, regulate emotions, and find a sense of self. This means a better daily life and healthier relationships I love working with other people who help people: health professionals, teachers, parents, and first responders too.

I am very privileged to work with clients who are interested in their self growth and development. Most of the time when people come to see a psychologist they are wanting to have some change in their life and they need the space to talk through their issues. I love providing a safe, confidential place for people to explore the difficulties and life experiences that have been challenging for them.

I work with sensitive, intuitive adults, teens, and young adults in Noosa Heads who often experience life more intensely than those around them, seeking support for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. You may feel exhausted from trying to hold it all together. Sensitivity is not something to fix or overcome, it’s a way of relating to the world and can be a strength. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and nervous-system focused. I bring a background in yoga and wellness. I also work in family law, which gives me experience with relationship breakdowns, conflict, and emotionally complex family dynamics.

Hi, my name is Kim. I am a Christian Counsellor that supports women and young people aged 12+ through life's ups and downs. You may be someone who appears to be coping on the outside, yet inside feels anxious, stressed, emotionally flat, or overwhelmed by the demands of life. You might be navigating intrusive thoughts, relationship strain, parenting challenges, or a season of grief, loss, or transition. Perhaps you’re a young person trying to make sense of who you are and where you’re heading, or a woman carrying a lot for others and unsure who supports you.

I offer trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy grounded in narrative practice, ACT, CBT, DBT and motivational interviewing.
I help people going through the worst days of their lives, with many challenges that all seem to stack up. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly struggling beneath the surface. You don’t want to be “fixed”, you want to be understood. You are seeking clarity, practical tools, and a sense of hope, and are ready to explore your story with someone who meets you as a whole person, not a diagnosis.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
