I believe each individual has natural healing resources and an innate capacity for growth, resilience, and meaningful change when provided with the right support and environment. My role as a psychologist is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges. I work with children, teens, and adults facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, stress, trouble with emotional regulation, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, life changes, and neurodivergence—especially late-diagnosed ADHD and/or Autism.

By blending traditional talk therapy and somatic (body-based) practices, we work with your nervous system to create change that lasts.
I’m Jess, and I’m here to create a space where you can just show up as you are, no performance required. As a psychologist, my goal isn't to "fix" you, but to collaborate with you. We’ll get curious about what’s happening in your world and help you get back in alignment with what actually matters to you. I bring a lot of heart, a good dose of humour, and zero judgment to our sessions. I believe therapy works best as an authentic human connection that leaves room for both the heavy stuff and the lighter moments. If you’re feeling a bit anxious about starting, don’t sweat it. We’ll just take it one step at a time.

Hi, I’m Julie. Are you feeling stuck, misunderstood, and anxious? Do you find yourself struggling to get to sleep, replaying conversations over and over? Maybe you feel like you can’t truly be yourself, afraid of being rejected or judged. Life might feel like it’s on repeat — doing everything that’s expected, but inside, something feels off. You’re tired of keeping quiet just to fit in, but you’re unsure of what truly makes you happy. Many people feel disconnected from themselves, unsure of what they want or what excites them. You might feel lost, anxious, or flat about your life, even though everything seems "fine" on the surface.

My work blends Gestalt therapy with somatic and CBT and DBT-informed strategies.
You might appear capable on the outside, yet inside feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself. Often there’s a quiet longing to feel more resourced, more secure in who you are, and closer to what truly matters. In our work, we slow things down and bring awareness to what’s happening now, creating room for choice. I support clients to live more fully by building awareness and opening space for new possibilities, supporting stronger self-esteem, clearer choices, and a steadier relationship with yourself when life feels demanding.

The work involves understanding what has been happening, identifying patterns in your thoughts, emotions and body responses, and building practical somatic tools you can use immediately.
You may look like you're holding it together. Inside, it's a different story. My clients carry a low hum of tension that never quite switches off. Or they brace for the moment someone finally gets tired of them, never fully letting their guard down. Or they live with a quieter difficulty: a persistent feeling something is fundamentally wrong with them that others can see and they cannot fix. Many have tried other approaches. Too distant, too clinical, too focused on symptoms without touching what is underneath. You don't need the right words. You need to arrive willing to look.

It's empowering to understand the stories that our minds hold about our sense of safety, security, worth, control and belonging. These stories were created in the past, when your mind tried to make meaning from experiences that felt scary, unsafe or out of our control. Your mind holds on to these stories as a way of protecting you from being hurt in the future, and replays them when it predicts future danger or suffering. But that's not the whole story. Using evidence-based, neuroscientific psychological approaches, we can begin to uncover these stories, process traumatic memory, distress and disturbance, and heal psychic wounds.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
