I began with DHS in child protection and outreach work.
I’m a Counselling Psychologist with 25 years experience holding Masters Degrees in Counselling Psych and Special Ed. Imagining my ideal client I see individuals/families seeking support for diverse challenges which may be manifesting as anxiety, depression, communication, eating disorders, low self-esteem or stress. Their needs are complex, reflecting their unique situations. Goals vary widely from anxiety management to enhancing parenting skills, however the underlying desire is to lead a more fulfilling life. Clients seek understanding and support as they navigate life's challenges, looking for tools and strategies to move forward

Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at my profile and see if we might connect. I specialise in LGBTQIA+, neurodiversity, and disability. Some of the issues that people bring to their sessions with me include - gender, sex and sexuality, religious trauma, parenting, relationships, family, mental health, and coping with daily life. Many of my clients are seeking a new perspective on challenges they've been managing for some time. Other times a difficult event, loss or personal crisis has occurred. I am an experienced family and relationship therapist and enjoy helping people create more secure and healthy connections.

My professional experience has included working with teenagers, children, neurodivergent individuals and women who have been the victims of domestic violence as well as women who are experiencing grief associated with reproductive loss.
Navigating and taking care of our mental health has never been so crucial in this age where being 'busy' has become more important than taking a break and just breathing. Unfortunately, our mental health is often in fact being neglected and when we become overwhelmed with all of our 'stuff', we sometimes feel like we can't reach out and ask for help. I encourage you to reach out if this is you. We can walk through this together.

Do you repeat same patterns in relationships, notice yourself self-sabotaging, or feel stuck? You may have tried to change with therapy or self-help before, but something was missing. You may feel frustrated and ready to look into why these patterns exist & how to shift them for good. Most importantly, you want 2026 to be a year of positive change. I'm Corene, and I help thoughtful adults create lasting change through Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy integrated with CBT, ACT, and attachment-focused work. Together, we'll understand what's keeping you stuck and create the internal shift needed for real, lasting transformation.

To offer a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for clients to freely express and explore their truth is my passion and purpose in life. One of my favourite quotes which guides my practice is by Bessel van der Kolk who states: "Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives." - Bessel Van Der Kolk. Through the many forms of listening, I am able to enter into the world of my client and walk alongside them as they explore, express and empower themselves to navigate the challenges in their life.

As a late diagnosed Autistic/ADHD/PDA individual, I proudly own who I am and utilise this as a foundation for my framework of practise as a Registered Counsellor. It has given me the permission to deeply root myself in neurodiverse affirmative counselling; a strengths based, non-pathologising type of therapy where each individual’s unique neurotype, sensory needs, values, beliefs, and current lifestyle form the foundation for therapy. It gives me such joy to work with people in the process of unmasking, and gently guide them as they discover what living authentically can be like.
