Therapy hasn't quite worked before? It might not have been the right fit, and that's worth knowing. If you're dealing with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, burnout, or the weight of big life changes, and you're based on the southern Gold Coast (Varsity Lakes, Robina, Burleigh Heads or nearby) or anywhere in Australia via telehealth, there's a different way to do this. Sessions at Wild Ground Therapy are shaped around how you actually think and what genuinely helps. Not a one-size-fits-all approach. Outdoors, in-clinic, or online. Medicare rebates available. No waitlist.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when we're trying to navigate our emotions, relationships, work, or even our own expectations. It’s not always easy to understand why we do what we do or how to make the changes we want. If you’re looking to become a more authentic version of yourself and gain a deeper understanding of your actions, therapy can be a powerful tool to help you on that journey.
There are times when we just need to speak our truth—without fear of judgment or the worry that our words might be misunderstood. If you are tired of living the same cycle, therapy will help you make the changes you desire.

My ideal client is a bright, sensitive child who feels things deeply and thinks deeply. They are often described as intelligent, capable, and thoughtful, yet underneath they struggle with anxiety, overwhelm, and self-doubt. Many hold it together at school and mask their worries during the day, only to unravel at home. They may be perfectionistic, rigid, or highly sensitive to uncertainty, friendships, or perceived mistakes. Some experience specific fears or school-related anxiety, while others grapple with big emotions, avoidance behaviours, or navigating their neurodivergent identity. What they need is a space where they don’t ha

In over 30 years practice experience & ongoing professional development; I have had the privilege of working with children, young people and adults whose engagement, potential and enjoyment in education, employment, social recreational & family contexts has been compromised through challenging acute (short) or chronic (long term) experiences – affecting their mental health and overall wellbeing. Through an integrative therapeutic model we have many positive, wonderful, inspiring and occasionally surprising outcomes; with felt and observable progress - often from our very first session.

Hello! My name is Kiana and I typically work with those who may appear to be managing well on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of themselves. They might be struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, people-pleasing, burnout, or navigating a period of change in their life.
Often, they want to better understand themselves - why they think, feel, and react the way they do. They’re looking for both practical strategies to cope with everyday challenges and deeper insight into their patterns, values, and goals. Ultimately, they want to feel more confident, grounded, and comfortable being themselves.

Are you a woman who’s worked hard to build your career but still feels like you don’t fully belong — no matter how much you achieve?
Maybe you’re juggling so many roles — leader, colleague, partner, mother, friend — that it feels impossible to show up as your best self in every area. You might find yourself lying awake with worry, feeling constant pressure to “get it right,” or feeling lonely and disconnected despite being surrounded by people.
You want to feel calmer and more confident. You want practical ways to manage anxiety and low moods. You want to feel more present — in your work, with your loved ones, and with yourself.

I work with sensitive, intuitive adults, teens, and young adults in Noosa Heads who often experience life more intensely than those around them, seeking support for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. You may feel exhausted from trying to hold it all together. Sensitivity is not something to fix or overcome, it’s a way of relating to the world and can be a strength. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and nervous-system focused. I bring a background in yoga and wellness. I also work in family law, which gives me experience with relationship breakdowns, conflict, and emotionally complex family dynamics.

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with an extensive knowledge of working with adults undergoing stress, trauma and crises. I work within a leading edge relational, embodied and psychospiritual context, primarily focused on the unconscious informed by transference and countertransference dynamics. I specialise in working with deep trauma and am skilled at tolerating difficult states, such as profound despair, that, for example, intense self hatred can lead us to. When we lose our own value and meaning in life we can spiral into a black hole.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioural Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
