I began my career as a lived experience worker within Qld Health over 15years ago and so I understand first hand the challenges that can come from navigating the mental health systems and accessing appropriate supports, particularly when unwell. My own lived experience of chronic ill mental health has heavily influenced my career and the way I engage with those I support. I whole heartedly believe that while we can have very similar experiences, the way those experiences impact and shape us are completely different and so too is the journey to mental wellbeing.

Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, burnout, or that persistent feeling of being stuck.
I'm an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker on the Gold Coast. What makes my practice different is that we don't have to stay in a room - sessions can be outdoors, in-clinic at Varsity Lakes, or online. Many people find that moving while talking helps them open up in ways that sitting across from someone doesn't. Medicare rebates available. No waitlist.

You’re the one who’s always been “too sensitive,” “too deep,” or “too much.” You’ve carried everyone else’s emotions while quietly neglecting your own. Now you feel tired, unseen, and ready for change. You want to heal the wounds that keep replaying — the trauma, anxiety, or self-doubt that’s dimmed your light. You crave peace, authenticity, and real connection — not quick fixes, but lasting healing that feels like coming home to yourself. Deep down, you just want to feel safe in your own skin again — calm, grounded, and whole.

Hello! My name is Kiana and I typically work with those who may appear to be managing well on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of themselves. They might be struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, people-pleasing, burnout, or navigating a period of change in their life. Often, they want to better understand themselves - why they think, feel, and react the way they do. They’re looking for both practical strategies to cope with everyday challenges and deeper insight into their patterns, values, and goals. Ultimately, they want to feel more confident, grounded, and comfortable being themselves.

Children, teenagers, and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or burnt out, and who are struggling with emotional regulation, school stress, daily routines, or confidence. They may feel misunderstood, exhausted by trying to “keep up”, or unsure how to cope with everyday demands. They want practical support that helps life feel more manageable, to build confidence in themselves, and to participate more fully at school, home and in their community.

Clients who align with my practice are often seeking more than just strategies & coping skills. Many have masked parts of themselves for too long, and are longing to understand themselves and their past in a safe space. They may have tried therapy in the past, but felt a bit like the one blue fish talking to one of the many gold fish. Some are driven to break generational patterns that were never meant to be theirs to hold or pass onto their children. They’re drawn to a therapeutic space where they can show up fully, without shrinking or modifying to feel they belong.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
