With a background managing behavioral challenges in schools, working in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and specializing in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (such as ASD and ADHD), I bring a wealth of experience to the therapy room.
In the therapy room, I strive to take a holistic and fun approach to therapy. I believe in addressing the entirety of a person's well-being, not just their mental health. I infuse creativity and enjoyment into my sessions, making the therapeutic process engaging and productive.

With 20 years' experience in many areas including neurodivergence (autism/ adhd/audhd), trauma, relationship issues, domestic violence, anger, general mental health and child and adolescent behaviour, I work from an eclectic and strength based perspective.
You followed the plan and it didn't work out. Perhaps you threw out the plan and now regret it or was never given a plan to begin with and life just happened! Regardless how you got here the one thing that is certain, is that something needs to change. The good news is you are not alone, there is always something that can be done. This situation and these feelings will not last forever and you have taken the first courageous step towards changing your course. As a degree qualified and registered counsellor with a background in psychology, I can help you with the next steps.

I am a clinical psychologist accepting new referrals for adult, adolescent and child ADHD assessments.
I provide brief and comprehensive ADHD assessments that are frequently requested by psychiatrists and paediatricians, although patients can also self-refer. My assessments focus on collecting data that medicos cannot usually collect, so there is no double-up in time and costs to the patient. Reports are typically available within one week.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
