Is it hard for you to speak about feelings of low self-worth or loneliness? What about in times of stress or uncertainty where feeling “stuck” happens regularly? What other situations are happening right now that is taking away your “happy”? If these issues concern you or anyone you know, maybe I can help.

As C.S. Lewis once wrote: “Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.” Holding on to the past can keep individuals from healing and moving forward. I support clients in finding the courage to let go and move through their healing journey. I offer a safe, respectful space to explore their experiences, reconnect with values, and move toward meaningful change. My approach is compassionate, integrative, and trauma-informed, with openness to incorporating Christian faith or personal beliefs when meaningful to the individual.

I support anxiety, depression, trauma-related stress, burnout, substance use, LGBTQIA matters, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
I help people going through the worst days of their lives, with many challenges that all seem to stack up. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly struggling beneath the surface. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, trauma, stress, identity questions, or relationship difficulties. You maybe feeling exhausted or disconnected inside. You don’t want to be “fixed”, you want to be understood. You are seeking clarity, practical tools, and a sense of hope, and are ready to explore your story with someone who meets you as a whole person, not a diagnosis.

My area's of interest including parenting and parental capacity building, chronic and complex mental health, addictions and relapse prevention planning and recovery coaching underpinned by a harm reduction, safer use philosophy.
I began my career as a lived experience worker within Qld Health over 15years ago and so I understand first hand the challenges that can come from navigating the mental health systems and accessing appropriate supports, particularly when unwell. My own lived experience of chronic ill mental health has heavily influenced my career and the way I engage with those I support. I whole heartedly believe that while we can have very similar experiences, the way those experiences impact and shape us are completely different and so too is the journey to mental wellbeing.

I help people understand emotional patterns, undiscovered needs, and past experiences that shape struggles like anxiety, perfectionism, loneliness, or coping habits (pornography, substance use, social media).
Coping rather than living? And old patterns no longer work the way they used to? You may feel overwhelmed, lonely, disconnected, or unsure of who you are becoming. These experiences are more common than most people realise, and they often reflect a deeper internal shift or life reassessment. With over a decade of experience in mental health in Australia and the UK, I’ve seen how common these turning points are and how much relief comes from having a grounded, genuine space to talk about them.

I specialise in working with clients experiencing addiction and substance dependancy, difficulty managing emotions, developmental trauma and relationship challenges.
I offer therapeutic services for people navigating the challenges of life — those quiet, heavy experiences that can make it hard to recognise yourself anymore. Through the integration of lived experience, professional practice and a strong theoretical background I works in a way that bridges the gaps between theory and practice. My intention is to share my natural warmth and engaging style to integrate current research from neuroscience, psychology, philosophy and psychotherapy. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

I help men get on top of anger, stress, and habits that have taken over the same way you'd fix anything properly: work out what's wrong, then fix it right, not patch it over. Think less therapist, more personal trainer: you do the work, I guide and keep you accountable. My approach draws on CAT and CBT, working a bit like detective work, mapping the pattern, tracing where it comes from, working out what's driving it. I'm a former tradie who had to get off the tools due to a disabillity. I am Online, Australia-wide, evenings and weekends. Mainly men, but anyone who's a good fit, including LGBTQIA+ clients, is welcome

Maybe you've had a rough upbringing, made "bad" decisions, use substances and want to stop.
My practice Living Free Psychology is about having the Freedom to <'"Choose Your own way"'< whatever that may be. I want to help you create a better future, one that you choose and can be proud of, and know with work that anything is possible. It's about hope, belief, support and connection. I am down to earth, real, and will always be honest, no BS.

Addiction Therapists
What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
