You are so much more than a symptom, a struggle, or a diagnosis. People come to therapy for different reasons—often to work through challenges, and also in search of something more: greater self-understanding, connection or meaning. I offer a safe, compassionate space to explore both life’s challenges and opportunities for growth. I'm guided by a holistic understanding that our inner and outer worlds are deeply interconnected through mind, body, emotion, relationship, health, environment and spirit. I am passionate about these connections, particularly in the areas of complex trauma, chronic health conditions and ancestral patterns

I am a PACFA registered clinical counsellor with over 20 years of experience, a certified Level 2 IFS psychotherapist, and a certified mindfulness teacher. I have a special interest in trauma informed, mindfulness and body-based approaches. I specialize in working with complex childhood trauma, but can also help with a range of other issues. My clients have often tried various psychological modalities which helped to some degree, but continued to struggle with certain issues. The combination of therapeutic modalities I use, particularly IFS, often helps people go much deeper within themselves and resolve those issues.

Hello! My name is Kiana and I typically work with those who may appear to be managing well on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of themselves. They might be struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, people-pleasing, burnout, or navigating a period of change in their life. Often, they want to better understand themselves - why they think, feel, and react the way they do. They’re looking for both practical strategies to cope with everyday challenges and deeper insight into their patterns, values, and goals. Ultimately, they want to feel more confident, grounded, and comfortable being themselves.

Maybe you've started noticing the same patterns showing up in your relationships, your reactions, or the way you see yourself. You might find yourself shutting down, overthinking, people-pleasing, struggling to trust, choosing the same relationships, or reacting in ways you don't fully understand. You don't need to arrive at therapy with all the answers. I work with individuals and couples who are curious about themselves and ready to understand what's underneath the patterns, process what they've been carrying, and create meaningful change.

Emotional struggles often signal that something in your life needs attention. Anxiety, mood fluctuations, addictions, and relationship struggles can leave you feeling stuck and unsure of how to move forward. Unprocessed challenging experiences, such as trauma, narcissistic abuse, domestic/family violence and addictions can shape how you see yourself and the world, making it hard to break free from harmful patterns.

Therapy doesn't always have to take place within four walls. For some people, being outdoors makes it easier to slow down, breathe, and begin talking about what feels difficult. This is why I offer walk-and-talk therapy in natural outdoor settings, alongside online sessions, giving you the opportunity to choose the environment that feels most comfortable and supportive. I offer integrative psychotherapy for adults and young people aged 14 and over. My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and grounded in an understanding of the connection between the mind, body, and nervous system.

She has a particular interest in neuro-affirming practice, Schema Therapy, and trauma-informed, skills-based work to support clients experiencing overlapping mental health challenges. I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, disconnection, overwhelm, or repeated relational conflict, and who are ready for something deeper than surface-level change. My approach is calm, relational, and depth-oriented. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we work by understanding behaviours and the drivers behind them — the patterns, protective strategies, emotions, and unmet needs that shape how you relate to yourself and others. This allows change to happen in a way that feels steady, not forced. Clients often describe feeling safe, understood, and guided toward meaningful change.

Counsellor, ACA-L1
Banksia Beach, QLD 4507
Do you have a parent who feels difficult to be around? They violate your boundaries. Reject you. Maybe they're critical, erratic, scary or put in very little effort? Other times they may seem loving or kind - especially towards other people. Many of my clients are adult daughters and sons who love their parents - and feel confused, anxious and heartbroken at the same time. You might feel grief for the parent you needed, guilt for wanting space, and exhaustion from trying to make the relationship work.

I work with sensitive, intuitive adults, teens, and young adults in Noosa Heads who often experience life more intensely than those around them, seeking support for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. You may feel exhausted from trying to hold it all together. Sensitivity is not something to fix or overcome, it’s a way of relating to the world and can be a strength. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and nervous-system focused. I bring a background in yoga and wellness. I also work in family law, which gives me experience with relationship breakdowns, conflict, and emotionally complex family dynamics.

Codependency Therapists
What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
