I often work with parents worried about their child or teen, adolescents who feel misunderstood or pressured, and adults or helping professionals who have carried too much for too long.
I offer a calm, supportive space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. My approach is relational, down-to-earth, and practical — we slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and build tools you can actually use in everyday life. I work with children, adolescents, parents, adults, and helping professionals.

You’re doing your best to keep things together, but lately, life feels like a constant cycle of "more of the same." Perhaps your relationship feels more like a conflict zone than a partnership, or you're a man navigating a major transition—fatherhood, career change, or a loss of direction—and finding it hard to talk about. You want more than just "venting"; you want a clear path forward and a way to reconnect with the people who matter most. You're looking for a therapist who gets the pressure you're under and offers a practical, respectful space to figure out what comes next.

I specialise in Women's Mental Health and Parenting/Relationship Struggles.
My ideal client is a woman who feels like she's lost herself in the midst of motherhood, relationships, responsibilities, or just trying to keep up with life. She might be snapping over little things, feeling guilty afterward, overwhelmed by the mental load, or grieving the version of herself that existed before children. Often, she's the one holding it together for everyone else but inside, she feels like she's running on empty. She wants to stop yelling, find time to do the things she loves, stop second-guessing everything, have a conversation with her partner that lasts longer than 5 seconds, and simply just, breathe!

I work with adolescents and adults who feel stuck in patterns they can recognise but struggle to change. They often present with anxiety, low mood, emotional reactivity, avoidance, or difficulty following through. Many are navigating life transitions or feeling disconnected from direction and meaning. We focus on identifying patterns that maintain these difficulties, building awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, and developing practical, values aligned strategies, helping clients move from insight into consistent, meaningful action.

Many clients know the past is over, yet respond as if danger remains. Subtle cues may trigger intense distress or a push-pull around closeness. This may relate to prolonged neglect, abuse, coercion or relational harm. Alongside core PTSD symptoms, some face difficulties with emotion regulation, negative self-concept and relationships—additional domains in CPTSD. I support adults, couples, young people, migrants and cross-cultural families. My background spans disability, Australian Red Cross multicultural work, Lifeline crisis support, Drug ARM recovery and community corrections. This breadth informs safe, practical next steps.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
