Psychologist, MPsych, PsyBA - Clin. Psych

Many of the people I work with are externally functioning but feel emotionally overwhelmed, navigating stress/burnout or complex life transitions often with underlying trauma. Substance, food, work or device dependency are common with feelings of being stuck in patterns shaped by early attachment wounds, perfectionism, ADHD/ASD. My clients seek to feel more regulated, connected and free — not just coping, but thriving. They’re seeking depth, insight, and practical tools to shift longstanding patterns, and are drawn to an integrative approach that blends evidence-based therapy, somatic work, and compassionate curiosity.

I offer therapy sessions in-person on Tuesdays (Crows Nest) and Thursdays (in the CBD) and online on other days.
Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. On the outside they’re capable and high‑functioning. On the inside they’re using sex, porn, dating, love, work, gambling, gaming, control, or emotional distance to cope with stress, shame, loneliness, or relationship pain. These behavioural or “process” addictions bring short‑term relief but often create more secrecy, disconnection, and repeated relationship struggles. Together we explore the childhood wounds that sit underneath these patterns and begin to build healthier ways of coping and relating.

Informed by Schema Therapy and attachment theory, I work with people who may be experiencing anxiety or OCD (including rumination and doubt cycles), relationship difficulties, identity concerns, low self-worth, emotional flatness or depletion, or a sense of feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to shift. Whether you're navigating specific challenges or longer-standing childhood wounds, we work together to understand what these patterns have been trying to do for you and what may now be getting in the way, creating space for greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and more flexible ways of relating.

Revive Psychology
Psychologist, PsyBA General
Bulimba, QLD 4171
With over 20 years’ experience, I work with adults navigating anxiety, the aftermath of difficult or toxic relationships, trauma, emotional burnout, and stress-related challenges — including workplace and WorkCover presentations. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, or exhausted from holding everything together. Often, our responses make sense in the context of what we’ve experienced. Together, we explore the “why” beneath those patterns and begin making meaningful behavioural and cognitive changes that support healthier outcomes.

In-person or telehealth sessions available Wed, Thurs, & Saturday.
You've found your way here. You're functioning on the outside. But inside, something's quietly falling apart. You've learned to hold it together, show up, manage, to keep going — even when you're exhausted. Maybe you've tried things before. Talked & read about it. Tried to think your way out of it. And still the same patterns keep coming back. Somewhere along the way, you lost connection with something — yourself, your body, the sense that life could feel different. You might not be in crisis. But you know this isn't how it's supposed to feel. And a quiet part of you is ready to find a way through. That's enough to begin.

“This isn’t how I thought my life would turn out.” “This isn’t where I want to be!” When we’re feeling stuck or lost in our life circumstances, it can seem overwhelming and never ending. We feel alone. We can spend our days constantly thinking about what’s gone wrong, and our nights unable to sleep with all the worry. Each day becomes the same as the day before, There seems no end to it, no future without these dark thoughts. Making it harder is the fact that no one understands what we’re going through. No one knows how anxiety, hopelessness or dread can engulf us.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
