I work with people who feel burnt out or quietly overwhelmed by the pressure to keep proving themselves. Life can feel like a constant test of your abilities, creativity, and resilience. In work, study, relationships, or creative practice, you may be excelling on the outside but there’s a persistent exhaustion, self-doubt, or sense that you’re never doing enough. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, think deeply, and explore not just symptoms but the underlying pressures shaping your experience.

I offer clear, practical online counselling for adults and teens who feel overwhelmed, stuck in their heads, or dealing with grief or big life decisions. Clients choose me because I’m calm, straightforward, and help them make sense of what’s going on without judgement or jargon. My approach is down-to-earth and focused on clarity: we slow things down, look at what’s actually happening, and untangle the thoughts and emotions that feel confusing or heavy.

Many of the men and couples I work with are living with anxiety, burnout, loneliness, intimacy concerns, or relationship challenges. Some are navigating identity changes, open relationships, desire differences, or questions around belonging. I support gay and queer men and LGBTQIA+ couples to strengthen their mental health, build confidence, and deepen connection with themselves and each other. My approach is sex positive and kink aware, grounded in consent and emotional safety. Our work focuses on understanding what is getting in the way, easing shame, and creating steadier, more meaningful ways of relating.

Many of the people I work with appear capable and functional on the outside, yet privately feel stuck, lost, or unsure of who they are becoming. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, being the rescuer, carrying the responsibility for everyone else, or feeling frustrated that your own needs remain unclear and unmet. You may struggle with ADHD symptoms, confusing feelings, self-doubt, or a quiet sense that life is not unfolding in the way you hoped. I work primarily with people navigating relationship strain, identity conflict, cultural or faith expectations, and questions of meaning and direction.

Many of the men we work with aren’t in crisis. They’re capable, driven and doing well on paper. But something isn’t working. You might be shutting down in conflict, carrying quiet anger, feeling disconnected from your partner, or unsure who you are outside of work and responsibility. You want to show up better in your relationships, feel more steady in yourself, and stop repeating patterns you know aren’t working. You may have tried pushing through on your own. Now you’re ready for structured support that actually translates into real conversations, real decisions and real change.

I work collaboratively with my clients to understand their story, including important life experiences and turning points that may have contributed to their current difficulties. I take a transdiagnostic approach, focusing less on diagnostic labels and more on the patterns that keep problems going. These patterns can include unhelpful habits, entrenched ways of thinking, emotional and relational dynamics, and ongoing life stressors. Often, it is these patterns, rather than the symptoms themselves, that cause problems. By addressing them we can work together to build new ways of responding that fit better with your values and goals.

Hi, I'm Andy, and I want to instill hope back in you for your future. Are you stuck going round and round in circles, on the hamster wheel of life, or "making the same mistakes" in relationships, over and over again? I've been there myself. Maybe giving yourself time to pause, reflect, and gaining some new tools for your personal toolbox is all you need to start the journey to wholeness. Let's dive deep into a world of discovery and choices, that our emotions are often signposts to deeper truths, if only we take the time and have the eyes to see. Often the greatest rewards lie at the end of life's hardest roads.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
