You see yourself repeating the same patterns. You're ready to understand the meaning these hold in your life, to finally let old patterns go and allow for new possibilities to arise. You want a space where you can connect deeply with yourself, understand who you truly are, and move towards greater alignment with your authentic self.

I work with people who appreciate inner-work and creative understanding and want to integrate a deeper level of soul and meaning into their lives. Many people I see have reached a point of seeing how old conditioning and patterns have been limiting their inner and outer lives and are wanting to make significant changes. Many people are at a crossroads, undergoing real loss, grief, or disappointment, and needing to find new meaning and direction.

You're good at holding it together on the outside, but privately running on empty. You say yes when you mean no. You shrink yourself to keep the peace. You're exhausted by how much space other people's feelings take up in your head. You might feel disconnected from who you actually are, stuck in patterns you can't quite name, or like something's off but you can't fully explain it. You're not in crisis. You're just tired of carrying so much. You want to slow down, understand what's been getting in the way, and start making choices that actually feel like yours.

Psychodynamic therapy respects the complexity of humans and looks to provide not only relief from symptoms, but the opportunity for a richer life.

I work with people who feel like they’re carrying too much. Sometimes it shows up as anxiety, exhaustion, shame, or the sense that they’re caught in patterns they can’t quite see but can’t seem to change. For others, it’s tied to experiences of trauma, OCD, eating disorders, or the ongoing effort of living in a body or world that hasn’t always felt safe. Many are also navigating questions of identity, neurodivergence, or health alongside their mental health. What they’re looking for is clarity, steady support, and practical ways to start untangling the patterns that leave them feeling stuck.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
