I am passionate about helping clients achieve meaningful change in their lives. I place a strong emphasis on creating a respectful therapeutic relationship and appreciate each client’s uniqueness. I view therapy as a collaborative process between the client and myself where the client is respected as the expert in their own life. I work within a person-centered and strength-based framework seeing therapy as an opportunity to utilise and build upon each client’s existing skills and strengths. I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client’s needs and draw on techniques from a range of evidence-based practices.

I have particular interests in perinatal mental health, women’s health, life transitions, trauma, grief, persistent pain, neurodiversity, and general mood concerns such as anxiety and low mood. I understand that these experiences do not exist in isolation, and take a holistic view of each person’s emotional, physical, and relational world. I believe that every person is the expert in their own life. Therapy is a collaborative process, where we work together in a safe, supportive space to explore challenges, build understanding, and create meaningful change aligned with what matters most to you.

I work with human beings, all of whom experience suffering. People who struggle with the impact that their thoughts, memories and feelings can have on their ability to live in accordance with their values. If you escape your feelings and thoughts through exercising, working too hard, thinking too much, looking at screens too much, modifying consciousness, or some of the other inventive options out there, then I believe I have an approach that might be of use to you.

I am a dedicated practitioner with passion for helping individuals between the ages of 12 and 65 overcome their emotional challenges and live fulfilling lives. In my practice, I take a holistic approach to therapy, considering each individual as a unique whole. I believe that mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, PTSD, and complex PTSD are not isolated conditions but rather manifestations of deeper underlying factors. By working collaboratively with the client, we are able to identify and understand the root causes, recognising that each person's experiences and challenges are multifaceted and complex.

Many people come to counselling feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, wanting clarity, healthier boundaries, or more fulfilling relationships. They may be navigating past trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions. What they’re often seeking is a safe space to be heard, make sense of things, and take meaningful steps forward. Therapy offers a chance to reconnect with what matters and build a life that feels more aligned and empowered.

Hi, I'm Bec Stewart. Many people have shared with me that while traditional talk therapy can be helpful, it sometimes doesn’t bring about the deeper change or healing they’re hoping for. That’s why I'm passionate about a holistic, integrative approach, which gently supports you in going beyond surface-level solutions and exploring the roots of your challenges. (EMDR, DBR, parts-work, & somatic therapies ). I know this kind of therapy can take courage, but many find it opens the door to more meaningful, long-lasting change. It’s a privilege to walk alongside you on what could be a transformative journey.
