I work from a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective.
I understand both the power and limitations of modern- day psychology. True mental wellness goes beyond just addressing symptoms. It involves honouring the whole person- the mind, the body (particularly our nervous system), the soul (who we are at our core), and understanding the complex ways they interact.

I offer EMDR, attachment-based therapy, and support for healing emotional and spiritual wounds.
You’re that high-achieving, resourceful woman who looks like she has it all together… but deep down, you feel lost and unsure of yourself. You’re constantly overthinking, second-guessing everything, and holding back tears in places where you’re expected to smile. You carry the weight of persistent stress, quiet anxiety, and complicated relationships. Now imagine this instead: sleeping and waking up in peace—not panic. Feeling confident in your relationships. Letting go of shame. Trusting again. Becoming the confident, beautiful version of you. Yes, you can heal—deeply and with God by your side.

Drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based work, I help clients meet their denied parts and painful memories with compassion, creating space to understand the patterns keeping them stuck.
Many of us learn to hide parts of ourselves to fit in, succeed, or stay safe. But when self-protection becomes second nature, it can leave us feeling disconnected, anxious, or stuck. My work is about helping you move from coping to healing to flourishing. My heart lies with supporting two types of clients who have had to learn to hide parts of themselves - LGBTQIA+ individuals facing the challenges of rejection, shame, and self-acceptance, and those with High-Functioning Anxiety—perfectionists, deep thinkers, and self-sacrificers who struggle to slow down and self-soothe.

I am a clinical psychologist and I have a strong interest in working with individuals to cultivate and maintain psychological resilience. I welcome clients who appreciate explorative work and insight-oriented therapy to assist their personal growth and enhance wellbeing. Many people want things to be different in their lives, and very often they do not realize they have been experiencing stress, anxiety or depression for a very long time. They may have thought about, or feel ambivalent, to reach out. With the appropriate support, understanding and compassion, things can change and they can be better equipped to move life forward.

Attachment-based Counsellors

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioural Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
