Good therapy is gold. I work with somatic modalities to help people's bodymind heal from stress, anxiety, PTSD, early life relational trauma and more. Anxiety and trauma is more common than we think and individualised therapy can make a real difference.

I offer therapy sessions online and in person at Coorparoo.
For over 15 years, my work has centred on complex and developmental trauma and the ways it lives in the body, nervous system and relationships. I work with couples (especially neurodivergent couples), children, families and individuals when old patterns keep repeating despite insight, effort and love. If you keep asking, “What’s really going on?” “Why can’t I get through?” “Why can’t they hear me, feel me, see me?” or “Why does my child seem so lost, angry, unhappy or unreachable?” I can help you understand what may be happening beneath the surface and find a different way through.

I offer therapy sessions in person and online in Red Hill, Brisbane on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
I love working with individuals and couples to help them understand themselves and each other better, and to change the negative patterns that both cause and result from attachment distress. Together we can make sense of what goes wrong and help you heal and change the negative patterns that get you stuck, whether within yourself or with others. Sometimes this may involve creating enough safety to help you recognise and process past relational or attachment trauma. Sometimes it can involve recognising and exploring the experience of living with neurology that works differently than that of the majority of people.

I prefer to see patients in person, but can also offer telehealth in certain circumstances.
I work individually with adults and older adolescents (17+) who are seeking a deeper psychotherapy experience grounded in connection, curiosity, and authenticity. The patients I see have often tried therapies that focus on shorter-term symptom relief but are now seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their struggles, and their relationships to bring about enlivening and long-lasting change.

Two ways to connect: Telehealth today, or in person from 30 July in a welcoming Ashgrove clinic space.
Do you feel like you’re carrying more than you can manage right now? Maybe you’re anxious most days, exhausted in a way sleep doesn’t fix, or unsure how to move forward. If things have felt heavy for a while, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I work with adolescents (16+) and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, burnout, and stress affecting daily life, relationships, or wellbeing. I also support more complex or medically-related presentations, including functional neurological symptoms.

I work with people who appreciate inner-work and creative understanding and want to integrate a deeper level of soul and meaning into their lives. Many people I see have reached a point of seeing how old conditioning and patterns have been limiting their inner and outer lives and are wanting to make significant changes. Many people are at a crossroads, undergoing real loss, grief, or disappointment, and needing to find new meaning and direction.

In-person in Brisbane.
Hi, I’m Donald. A lot of the people who find their way to me aren’t “falling apart” in obvious ways - they’re functioning, capable, often the ones others rely on - but there’s a persistent sense that something isn’t right. Maybe you can’t find ease in yourself, you keep repeating the same relationship patterns, or you’re tired of managing life while feeling disconnected from it. My work is relational, attachment-informed, and formulation-driven.

It’s important to find a therapist who feels like a good fit. You may get a lot out of our work if you struggle with assertiveness or establishing your own needs in relationships. You may be deeply attuned to others, overwhelmed and resentful, and stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You may struggle with shame, boundaries, or building relationships that feel safe and reciprocal. If you’ve tried traditional talk therapy but felt that something was missing, somatic therapy might help you work through things in a more integrated way. If you want not only coping skills but genuine growth and change, you're in the right place.

Sessions available in person (north Brisbane), online or by phone.
Welcome. I'm Louise, anxiety counsellor, ADHDer, mum of two kids, one cat and one dog, lover of nature and home reno shows, and recovering stress head. Eight years ago I was in full-on stress mode so I made some changes (some big, some small) then returned to this work I truly have a passion for. I especially love helping women in their 30s and 40s move from stressed, cranky, stuck and overwhelmed, to calm, clear and actually enjoying life, rather than rushing through it on autopilot. That said, I work with adults of all ages and everyone is welcome! What brings people here is usually anxiety, stress, burnout, overwhelm, &/or ADHD.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
