Hi there! I'm Phil - a registered psychologist and clinical psychology registrar. I offer in-person sessions at my private practice in Glen Iris, or alternatively over telehealth. The name of my practice, Fluid Psychology, represents the qualities and approach I bring to each session as a psychologist. I aim to adapt to your unique needs by tailoring interventions to what matters to you, and by being flexible, curious, and open; avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach. I pride myself on being culturally informed and respectful, no matter your background or upbringing.
I have interests in and can offer therapy for issues such as trauma (including workplace, motor vehicle, and complex trauma), adjustment issues, insomnia, obsessive-compulsive issues, chronic pain, anxiety & depression, phobias, panic attacks, self-criticism, and perfectionism. I'm trained in EMDR 2.0, ACT, CFT, CBT-I, and ERP, amongst other methods.
If you'd like to learn more about how I work and determine whether we’re a good fit, or even if you have some specific questions, I would be happy to have chat! You are welcome to reach out for a confidential, no-obligation 15-minute phone call. The best way to reach me initially is via email or the contact form on my website.

I use a process-based therapy (PBT) approach, which sees individuals as more than just a diagnosis or set of symptoms. In your first few sessions, this allows me to identify the unique contributing factors to your challenges. We can then flexibly tailor interventions together, to help you make meaningful and sustainable change. These may include techniques from ACT, EMDR, CFT, and other therapies.
