Barry has had extensive experience in the Community Service Sector, working with people who are homeless and have complex needs. Generally people look for help to manage their lives in a more effective manner, and to reduce the everyday stress of life. This goal is best achieved by helping people help themselves by using a ‘Client Directed Outcome Informed Treatment’ which places people in the ‘Drivers Seat, of planning their own recovery pathway. The role of the Counsellor is to walk alongside a person to assist them achieve their goal!
I specialise in helping people help themselves, by using a Feedback Informed Treatment Approach, combined with Acceptance and Commitment therapy. I have found this to be very effective, and can be used to treat: Relationship problems, trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions, identity issues, and issues specific to males. I also provide Life Coaching.
I provide confidential friendly service, and seek to help people in a comfortable non-judgemental way. My focus is on listening to a person’s concerns, building a great relationship, then equipping a person with the skills to manage and live life well!
