My clients often are looking for ways to better handle the challenges of daily living. They may be feeling these challenges are insurmountable or that they are fundamentally inadequate to be able to cope. They might not feel that they have a good understanding of who they truly are, what it is they want out of life, or what they have to offer others. They might also struggle to draw on the resources around them and make the most of their personal relationships. They may struggle to find the voice inside to reassure them that, as hard as things can feel, they can change.
In the first instance, I offer a deeply empathetic ear and an atmosphere of acceptance so that my clients can explore the tough aspects of their experiences without fear of judgement. I look to build people's internal resources and sense of self so that life's challenges don't seem quite so daunting, all the while accepting that no-one is ever perfect.
Of greatest importance in therapy is the relationship between two people. I invite people to get in touch and try an initial consultation to get a sense of how experiencing a new kind of relationship could make life more manageable.
