My name is Tara Macdonald and I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. I work with people over 18 years from many walks of life and experiences. We can find ourselves at times struggling to manage the complexities of life and feel overwhelmed with these emotions. My practice is focused on you and how best to work through these struggles. I work with people who are experiencing mental health concerns, trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and disabilities. I provide services under Medicare Mental Health Treament Plans, NDIS participants, aged care, WorkCover, DVA and privately funded individuals.
I practice from a recovery-based perspective which empowers individuals to regain control over their lives and work towards achieving a meaningful and fulfilling existence. In a recovery-based perspective, there is a shift from a purely symptom-focused model to a more holistic view that considers social, cultural, and environmental factors.
The cornerstone of my practice is centred on providing you with a safe, warm and non-judgemental space for building our therapeutic relationship. My office hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm AEST. Please contact me through my website or by phone to discuss my services.
