I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to make sense of your inner world, bringing relief and healing. I am a Certified Internal Family Systems ('IFS') therapist and the only Australian clinically trained in Somatic IFS by its founder, Susan McConnell. We access the wisdom of the body and nervous system, bringing curiosity and compassion to the different, often conflicted, 'parts' of you inside.
I provide online coaching and counselling to clients offering psychological support and empowering people to live a values-driven life filled with engagement, meaning and success. For adults seeking 1-1 support from an experienced and caring psychologist. Together we can work on issues such as adjusting to life changes, symptoms of anxiety and depression or simply getting your mojo back. I created Anahata Psychology and Consulting Practice to facilitate change, with Heart. I’m a big fan of telehealth. I’ve spent time teaching online in universities, so when COVID came, the move to online psychotherapy was easy for me. Telehealth suits people who don’t necessarily have the time to come into an office or prefer the privacy of their own home. Instead of paper handouts, I give you links.

Neurological conditions affect both the patient and their family. I offer my services to both. Neurological disorders are doubtless among the most frightening illnesses that human beings face. Knowledge is sometimes the only power there is against the vagaries of these ailments. That is where counselling from a specialist psychotherapist comes in. I will make an assessment of the patient’s condition and take a medical history. I will also work with the patient’s doctor to coordinate the psychotherapy with medical treatment. I offer sessions by Phone, Skype, FaceTime and ZOOM. Call me and let’s discuss possible therapeutic options.
When the human condition feels threatened, challenged or overwhelmed, our thoughts and behaviours can become consuming. A life event that destabilises us can create all range of emotions and behavioural responses without our awareness in order to cope. Having support to process the effects can create a positive pathway to cope in the future. Investing in yourself and asking for support is the brave first step to take. It is so important that you have choice in your therapist and feel comfortable, safe and heard.
