Hello! My name is Salome, and I am a registered psychologist, who has a strong desire to help people achieve their mental health goals. Often, our past traumas can have a significant impact on the way we experience the world around us. Without proper support, we may have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms in our search for comfort and peace. These unresolved issues can lead to a range of psycho-social problems, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, and negative self-perception. However, facing these complex and overwhelming emotions can be a daunting task to undertake on our own.

I have a genuine respect for people and the complexity of what they carry. I value the opportunity to sit with you, understand your experience, and work alongside you through periods of challenge, uncertainty, and change. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and emotional regulation challenges. I’m drawn to the moments in therapy where things begin to shift, when patterns become clearer, when someone feels truly heard, and when small changes start to open up something larger. At the heart of my work is a genuine love of people.

Hi. I’m Colleen Nicholas. I’m an Art Therapist, Sandtray Therapist, Interactive Drawing Therapist and Counsellor. I offer expressive therapies in addition to talk therapy, because sometimes words are not enough. It can be difficult to find words to express what we are thinking, feeling or experiencing. Sometimes we are not aware of the “real issue” that’s causing our distress.

Life can present many challenges and can sometimes bring exposure to unexpected events with profound impact and ongoing echoes. In my 30 years of practice as a psychologist I have held a passion for supporting individuals attempting to traverse life’s difficulties with particular attention to those who have experienced trauma. Trauma comes in many forms and from many sources and its impact and pathway toward healing is as individual as the person making this journey. I am experienced working with individuals with PTSD including Emergency Service Personnel.

Through the blended application of evidence-based psychological principles and business understanding, I focus on work-related stress and burnout, career transitions and identify issues, performance anxiety, workplace relationships and conflicts, and executive/professional adjustment issues.
My clients are high-performing individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unfulfilled, yet deeply desire the ability to apply themselves with more wisdom, insight and balance to mutually benefit their work, their home life, their community and themselves, and secure their long-term satisfaction and success. In today’s fast-paced world, finding a path to genuine, lasting transformation can be overwhelming. Many are held back by limiting beliefs, unresolved stress, and a lack of clear direction, which can hinder peak performance and well-being.

I support those suffering from anxiety, trauma and life burnout. Those who are curious in re-setting their life. I am an IFS informed Clinical Psychotherapist. I work with the body and its signals. My training has been in trauma informed modalities - we don't always have to know the story. I work with domestic and international clients (individuals and also couples), many of whom are neurodiverse. My passion is supporting people to uncover patterns that no longer work for them. Awareness of our parts, and integrating them, supports living our purpose.

I am a therapist and coach dedicated to helping people become active participants in their own lives. I work with individuals and couples who are seeking clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper connection with themselves and others. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: we all carry power within us. I chose this path because, during times when I felt disconnected and uncertain of my place, someone helped me reconnect with my own inner strength. Today, I support others on their journey of self-discovery and psychological growth, walking alongside them with care and curiosity.

Do you feel stuck in an unfulfilling career, but not sure where to pivot?
My therapy approach is relational, which means I meet my clients where they’re at and tailor my approach to suit their needs. A therapy session with me could look very different from one client to another. In the past, I’ve received feedback that my style is empathetic, thoughtful, and grounding - these are at the heart of what I offer my clients.

How do I know if I need career counselling?
Determining whether a career counsellor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counselling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counsellor.

Who can benefit from career counselling?
Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counselling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counselling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counsellor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counselling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counselling typically last?
The length of career counselling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counselling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counsellor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counselling?
Clients can prepare for career counselling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counsellor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counsellor, particularly if the career counsellor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counselling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
