My commitment is to work alongside you to create a safe, non-judgmental space to help faciliate, unfold and navigate our conscious and unconscious behavious and patterns. I am here to be present with you, and to recognise that healing and transformation is not measured by external ideas of 'fixing'. Therapy is a progressive process. It's individual and meaningful. Your outcomes are supported by your willingness to stay with what your experiencing, to deepen with compassion and to integrate your mind, emotions and body into a sense of being whole so that you can have a deeper relationship with yourself.

I offer a calm and grounded space for people navigating complexity; both around them and within. Many of the people I work with carry a lot, often quietly. They’re high-functioning, thoughtful, and deeply attuned to the needs of others but can feel unseen, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.

I support people experiencing grief and loss, particularly traumatic grief, sudden loss, suicide loss, overdose loss, or unexpected bereavement. Many clients come to counselling after the death of a child, sibling, partner, loved one, or the loss of something deeply meaningful in their world such as employment or identity. The shock and pain of these experiences can leave people feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or alone. I work with adults and young people to help them process grief, understand complex emotions, and find ways to move forward while continuing to honour what they have lost. You do not have to face this alone.

I specialise in anxiety, depression and dealing with life stages.
I've helped many people see their lives more clearly and be the person they want to be. What would you like to change? Is there something you feel is holding you back but you just can't figure out what or why? Sometimes you might just want someone to talk to that isn't a friend or family member to give you an independent insight to a problem. Whatever you are looking for, I can help you reframe what isn't working and give you a different perspective.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
