By offering counselling and therapeutic solutions, both in person and virtually, we’re here we’re here to help you bring about the change you’re looking for.
We can be cruising along, enjoying ourselves, when suddenly everything grinds to a sudden halt. It can be something small, or something catastrophic, and suddenly you’re stuck in a place you never expected to be in. Thinkful was created for you. A safe space for the everyday human just trying to better themselves.

I currently have limited face to face availability but additional days are opening soon.
As a Clinical Social Worker, I work with people who feel disconnected from their sense of self-worth, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. This can show up in relationship struggles, self-destructive patterns, people-pleasing, emotional dysregulation or numbness. Many clients experience low mood, anxiety, shame, or overwhelm. I support clients to build self-soothing skills, make sense of their experiences, and reconnect with their authentic Self. I work with compassion, honesty, and humour, creating a space that feels safe and grounded. Together, we move toward healing, greater self-trust, and meaningful, lasting change.

Gday, I work with new patients either in person at my Terrigal Clinic, or via telehealth on Zoom or on the phone.
If you're in recovery and scared it's not going to stick — I get it. I've been there. I'm a counsellor with almost 20 years of clinical experience and my PhD research specialises in addiction recovery and relapse prevention. I work with people who are serious about lasting change, not just getting through the week. My Terrigal clinic is a short drive from anywhere on the Central Coast, and I offer telehealth if that's easier. Call me for a free 15-minute chat — no pressure, no forms, just a conversation. If you are ready for recovery - REALLY ready - then let's get started.

Even though you might not always feel like it, you are the expert in your own life. Life's complexities can often leave us feeling overwhelmed, confused, and adrift, lacking purpose and direction. This can lead to adopting unhealthy coping mechanisms to avoid thoughts and feelings altogether. My approach involves treating you with empathy, acceptance, and without judgment in a practical and supportive manner. Together, we will collaborate to rediscover your strengths, nurture resilience, and unlock your potential for growth, facilitating the changes you desire. I firmly believe in the possibility of positive change.

I work with people who are thoughtful, reflective, and ready to actively engage in therapy. Many of my clients are functioning well on the outside yet feel anxious, burnt out, stuck, or caught in repeating relational patterns. They’re not looking for quick fixes, but for a deeper understanding of how their nervous system shapes their emotions, body, and relationships. Through somatic psychotherapy, we work at a steady and supportive pace to build regulation, capacity, and trust in yourself. Over time, clients often feel more grounded, less reactive, and more able to meet life and relationships with clarity, choice, and ease.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
