I draw on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy, and integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
You may be feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you — in your relationships, coping strategies, or how your past continues to influence your present. Many people I've supported feel emotionally exhausted by high-conflict or unsafe relationships, overwhelmed by anxiety or low mood, or disconnected from themselves. I support individuals who have experienced relational trauma, coercive control, emotional abuse, or violence, as well as those navigating compulsive behaviours such as substance use or binge eating. Therapy may involve making sense of experiences, healing wounds and developing new goals and coping strategies.

I am strongly experienced in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) amongst other therapy modalities.
Every person's journey is unique, and I like to understand the background and goals of the people I support to ensure together we create a personalised therapy plan tailored to them. I work with adults, and adolescents and I have a strong interest in supporting people navigating anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, developmental trauma, CTPSD and the myriad of life's challenges. My approach is twofold: I believe in equipping you with immediate tools to cope with present concerns, while also delving into the roots of these issues – be it past events, deep-seated beliefs, or coping mechanisms – to pave the way for a brighter future.

My approach integrates trauma-informed grief counselling, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy ( ACT), and cognitive behavioural strategies.
I support people experiencing grief and loss, particularly traumatic grief, sudden loss, suicide loss, overdose loss, or unexpected bereavement. Many clients come to counselling after the death of a child, sibling, partner, loved one, or the loss of something deeply meaningful in their world such as employment or identity. The shock and pain of these experiences can leave people feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or alone. I work with adults and young people to help them process grief, understand complex emotions, and find ways to move forward while continuing to honour what they have lost. You do not have to face this alone.

I utilise CBT, ACT, Attachment Theory, NT, Transpersonal Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and psychoeducation.
One of the barriers to self-care is allowing yourself to go into the depths of your experiences. Often, we are challenged to explore and understand this profound chasm, to touch what is held there, to hear its messages, and to connect with compassion to the raw emotions that have been lying dormant for years or just surfaced. By peering into the abyss, we can gain deeper understanding of ourselves and insight into the meaning of our lives; transforming and opening up possibilities the future could hold for us.

Many people come to us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why things aren’t improving despite their best efforts. They may struggle with anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship difficulties, or feel something deeper is holding them back. They’re looking for clarity, understanding, and practical strategies to feel more grounded and confident. Their goal is to heal, grow, and create a life that feels calmer, more balanced, and true to who they are.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
