Are you feeling unsure how to move forward? Maybe you're navigating relationship struggles or trying to make sense of your life? Most people come to therapy because they want something to change. But lasting transformation starts with understanding how things are right now. From a young age, our nervous systems adapt to help us navigate the world, creating automatic patterns of feeling and reacting. Whilst they once served us, they can become limiting over time, keeping us stuck in ways that no longer align with who we are or what we need. I am here to help you gently uncover and understand these ingrained patterns.

Hi, I’m Alana. I’m a counsellor on the Sunshine Coast, working from The Space, Noosa, and online via Zoom or phone. This space is for you — a place to pause, breathe, and be met with gentleness. I offer individual counselling for all ages and genders — children, teens, and adults — anyone navigating life’s challenges, moments or seasons that feel heavy or confusing, or transitions. Together, we can explore your experiences and emotions, notice the strengths you already carry, and create more ease, hope, or wholeness. Even simply finding a little space, support, or relief within a challenge can be deeply supportive.

I’m gender non-conforming, neurodiverse and I successfully work with my own trauma.
I work with LGBTIQ+ clients, including trans and non-binary people, people with traumatic histories, including sexual assault and abuse, people with dissociative disorders, including DID, people with ADHD, autism, and other neurodiverse brains, activists and other people struggling with burn out. My client says 'I came to you thinking that i needed to be fixed, that i just needed to work harder on myself so that all of my problems could be solved and then i could start 'living my real life.' I'm starting to learn that maybe it's ok that i don't always have my sht together. I’m human and that’s ok."

There is a finality to symptoms such as insecurity, depression, anger and anxiety. Exploring one’s psyche can lead us on a path of transformation, creativity, authenticity to oneself and healing. Jungian therapy is a process suited to anyone with an interest in knowing more about themselves. As Jung said “one does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious” and so Jungian therapy is a journey of awakening inner aspects one may not have realised they carried, aspects brought forth which may have hindered a connection to ourselves and to others.

I also draw on my expertise with trauma and the Depth Enquiry (Gestalt therapy's answer to EMDR) method in my work.
Do you feel lonely in your relationship? Do you argue about who is to blame? Or, do you feel disconnected from yourself, your friends or children? Are you longing for more from your life? I'd love to help. My approach is relational, non-judgemental and de-pathologising. I aim to level the power imbalance, so, rather than being the expert, we work together in an authentic collaborative relationship in a process of awareness-raising. Together, we come to understand habitual patterns, unmet attachment needs & longings - toward desired, lasting change through open, safe and honest communication with clear boundaries.
