I work with adults navigating complex challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, chronic stress, and addiction. Many clients come to me feeling trapped in unhelpful cycles, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to move forward. My role is to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space for collaboratively exploring these experiences. I support clients in understanding how past events shape their present, help them to process and heal, reconnect with their strengths, build healthier coping strategies and ultimately begin living a fulfilling, balanced, resilient, and empowered life that aligns with their values.

I am a Social Worker and a Gestalt Psychotherapist. I have worked in mental health, disability, with the aged and the dying. Throughout my life journey I have come to have a deep appreciation of the human spirit and its capacity for growth and development. I understand that we are all unique in our response to the challenges that we face, and I work towards creating a supportive and safe environment that allows exploration of what is currently occurring in your life and how it is impacting your ability to live as you would like. Through this process, awareness deepens and the possibility and opportunity for change can occur.

I am passionate about the pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting space and I offer a warm and collaborative environment to address any issues at hand.
My ideal client is a woman who feels like she's lost herself in the midst of motherhood, relationships, responsibilities, or just trying to keep up with life. She might be snapping over little things, feeling guilty afterward, overwhelmed by the mental load, or grieving the version of herself that existed before children. Often, she's the one holding it together for everyone else but inside, she feels like she's running on empty. She wants to stop yelling, find time to do the things she loves, stop second-guessing everything, have a conversation with her partner that lasts longer than 5 seconds, and simply just, breathe!

Understanding how you experience the world is central to my work as a therapist. I am interested how feelings and thoughts can manifest in our bodies. Gentle exploration of these somatic responses can assist in deeper understanding of our emotional world. Working together, I would support you toward your self-acceptance of challenging thoughts and feelings. Alongside my private practice, I work with a national not-for-profit supporting parents experiencing antenatal and postnatal anxiety, depression and adjustment to parenthood - as a spokesperson, managing clinical intake and clinical writing.

I draw on evidence-based methods and a holistic lens, with a focus on perinatal mental health, trauma, parenting, and the brain-gut-nutrition connection.
As a clinical psychologist, I support people during times when things feel heavy, uncertain, or overwhelming. This is your time, to be heard, to grow, and to heal in a way that’s true to you. You might be feeling anxious, adjusting to parenthood, grieving a loss, or navigating past trauma. Maybe you're simply looking for space to breathe and be heard. My clients often seek clarity, relief, and a deeper sense of connection, to themselves, to others, and to their own healing. They’re ready to be gently supported on a path toward change, even if they don’t know where to start.

It can be overwhelming and daunting to find a therapist who understands you, your story and your life. You don’t want the “cookie cutter”answers or quick fixes because it feeds into the dissatisfaction and feelings of being unheard.

I also have a special interest in the perinatal mental health period, supporting parents in pregnancy and early parenting.
Reaching out for support takes a lot of courage, and I don't take that lightly. My aim is to create a space where you can feel safe, understood, & able to show up exactly as you are. From there, we can begin to explore what's going on for you at a pace that feels right.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioural therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviours. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
