In the same way that you see a GP for physical illness, a physio for muscular problems, a psychologist can help with mental, emotional and situational problems. You have a safe place to talk about things. You are not alone, and what you face is often faced by others. When you don’t know what else to do, we can help you find safety, and ease the pain - of anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, and career. We can also get to the root cause, to end spiralling, to end the back and forth. We can meet face to face in Norwest or by Zoom. Access to medicare benefits for mental health plans are available.

I am a skilled trauma-informed person-centred Clinical Psychologist, utilising evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, alongside elements of IFS, Ego State Therapy, Somatic Therapies, ACT, guided mindfulness with breathwork as well as adult ADHD management strategies.
Life feels overwhelming. You may struggle with self-doubt, emotional pain from past trauma, pressure of life transitions, feeling disconnected from yourself and uncertain about how to move forward. Perhaps low self-esteem and negative thought and behaviour patterns have left you feeling trapped in cycles that no longer serve you. What you need isn’t just coping strategies—you need a therapist who truly sees you, understands you, and walks alongside you in your healing journey. Someone who listens without judgment, helps you make sense of your experiences, and provides you the tools to help you live your best life and thrive.

For me, the heart of therapy is building a real, human connection. I like to keep the process authentic and, at times, a little unconventional—because no two people are the same, and neither is the way we work together. My role is to offer compassion, understanding, and steady support as we navigate whatever life is throwing your way. I believe in focusing on what’s gone right in your life—your wins, your strengths, and the moments you’ve already overcome—rather than only looking at setbacks. Every experience, whether uplifting or challenging, shapes who you are and can be a stepping stone toward who you want to become.

Drawing on my experience with Lifeline, I work collaboratively with clients through difficult times using evidence-based approaches, including CBT and mindfulness.
I have a genuine respect for people and the complexity of what they carry. I value the opportunity to sit with you, understand your experience, and work alongside you through periods of challenge, uncertainty, and change. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and emotional regulation challenges. I’m drawn to the moments in therapy where things begin to shift, when patterns become clearer, when someone feels truly heard, and when small changes start to open up something larger. At the heart of my work is a genuine love of people.

During those 30 years I have done certificate trainings in CBT, and Mindfulness- Based Therapy, Buddhist informed therapy, and Analytic Therapies.
I like to work with people who have found that short -term therapies have not worked for them. My clients come to me because their problems reemerge regularly and are damaging the relationships in their lives. Expressing feelings, such as anger may be difficult, or feelings of hopelessness have taken over and they are afraid. Some may be struggling with finding romantic partners that stick, or working relationships that support them. To live and work with other people is one of the hardest things we do and yet we have to, and some of us need a little support to manage the emotional roller coaster.

I combine coaching and psychology, drawing from evidence-based practices like CBT, EMDR, Mindfulness, and ACT.
Therapy for multicultural Australians navigating life between cultures You might feel like you're always switching between worlds — at home, at work, and within yourself. Maybe you’re carrying cultural expectations you didn’t choose. You might feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt, disconnected in relationships, or just emotionally exhausted trying to hold everything together. If this resonates, you're in the right place. I work with people from multicultural backgrounds, especially second or third-generation Australians and children of migrants, who want to feel more in control, more grounded, and more at ease in themselves.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
