I aim to create a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about what’s weighing on you — the painful emotions, experiences, and challenges that life can throw our way. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is seeing clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. A strong therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change, so my style is friendly, relaxed, and down-to-earth. At the same time, my approach is pragmatic and purposeful — therapy isn’t just about talking, but about making sense of your experiences and finding practical ways to move forward in everyday life.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin therapy, whether you’re seeking support for yourself or for your child. Many people and parents come in unsure of what the exact goal should be, they just know things could be better. If you’re open to exploring what change might look like and willing to try small steps between sessions, we can make real progress together. I value honesty and appreciate when clients or parents feel comfortable sharing what’s helping and what still feels stuck. Therapy works best when it feels like a genuine team effort.

I work with individuals and couples navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, identity, and life transitions in today's fast-paced world. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves, their relationships, or their sense of direction. Couples may find themselves caught in patterns of blame or conflict and wanting to better understand one another and communicate more openly.

I have 12 years of clinical experience across education, counselling and advanced clinical social work, supporting adults and young people with complex mental health needs.
If you've been struggling to manage and still feeling stuck, I work with people who need more than surface-level strategies. My focus is complex trauma, PTSD, long-term recovery, and the impact of systems, relationships, and life events that leave lasting consequences. My approach is practical, grounded, and centred on restoring stability, safety, and agency. I’m SIRA registered and support NDIS (self-managed or plan-managed) participants. I work independently of Medicare so clients can access therapy without formal diagnoses, session limits, or GP involvement. Some private health rebates may apply depending on your provider.

You want to figure out what “better” means for you. You’re tired of feeling stuck in the same routines. This could be Sunday night dread before work. Might you experience constant arguments in your relationship? Or you feel numb inside, as if you’re living on autopilot. Are you: - Ready to put in the sometimes challenging work for change. - Wanting a therapist who actively helps you make sense of your life? - Seeking a partner to bounce ideas off who understands the pressures of modern life in Western Sydney? -Seeing quality psychological care as an investment in yourself? - Keen to break free from feeling stuck in old patterns?-

Hello! My name is Salome, and I am a registered psychologist, who has a strong desire to help people achieve their mental health goals. Often, our past traumas can have a significant impact on the way we experience the world around us. Without proper support, we may have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms in our search for comfort and peace. These unresolved issues can lead to a range of psycho-social problems, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, and negative self-perception. However, facing these complex and overwhelming emotions can be a daunting task to undertake on our own.

My ideal clients are adults who are seeking more than just symptom relief, they're wanting to understand themselves more deeply and live with greater clarity, connection, and self-trust.
Clients typically come to my practice when something no longer feels sustainable, whether that's ongoing anxiety, relationship difficulties, burnout, trauma, or a quiet sense that they've lost touch with themselves. They may have tried other approaches before, or they may be new to therapy, but share a desire for a space that feels safe and genuinely caring.

FAQ - About Adult Counselling
Why should adults see a therapist?
Adults may benefit from therapy for a wide range of reasons—whether it’s managing symptoms of a diagnosed mental health condition like anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, coping with grief or trauma, or simply seeking support during a challenging life period. Many adults find that therapy helps them build healthier coping skills and better process their emotions, which may lead to better relationships and reduced stress. It’s important to note that, unlike psychiatrists or primary care physicians, therapists do not prescribe psychiatric medication. However, they will often work alongside prescribing clinicians to ensure coordinated care and can provide behavioural therapy as an important addition to psychiatric medication. Mental health concerns can look different in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence, so finding a therapist with expertise working with adult clients is important. Conditions like major depressive disorder (MDD), generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for instance, may present or resurface differently in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence. Adult-specific stressors, such as job strain, caregiving responsibilities, relationship challenges, financial stress, or identity transitions, can also influence the onset and type of symptoms an individual experiences. Adult-focused therapists, therefore, are trained to understand these complexities and tailor care accordingly.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit for me?
When seeking care, it’s important to understand a therapist’s treatment specialties and their overall approach to treatment . Some therapists focus on common adult conditions like anxiety or depression, while others specialize in areas such as trauma, substance use disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s also important to consider a therapist’s training when seeking care. Therapists in Australia hold various credentials depending on their training. Counsellors and Psychotherapists are registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) or the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and their qualifications and practice are overseen by these professional organisations. Psychologists must be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and have professional designations such as Clinical Psychologist, General Psychologist, or Counselling Psychologist. All of these professionals can provide talk therapy but do not prescribe medication. When searching for a therapist, consider their credentials and training background to ensure a good fit.

How do I find a therapist who sees adults?
Psychology Today’s online directory allows you to search specifically for therapists who work with adults. Each provider profile includes key information such as clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, licensure, accepted insurance plans, languages spoken, and session fees. Reviewing these details can help you determine whether a particular provider aligns with your needs and can indicate whether they are a good match for adult clients.
