Whether it is mental ill health, challenging life circumstances or simply times of change, life can sometimes feel tough. I work with adults and couples to help you understand yourself and grow through life's adversities. My area of interest is helping those who have experienced trauma or life transitions regain quality of life and a sense of self, helping women navigate the challenges of mid-life, and helping couples find each other again. I want to understand you, how you see yourself and your life and how you would like it to be different. Reaching out is all it takes to start creating the life you want.

Using EMDR, CBT, ACT and nervous system-informed approaches, I help clients understand and heal the patterns driving people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt and anxiety, so they can build self-trust, healthier boundaries and live more authentically.
You look like you're coping on the outside, but inside you're exhausted. You put others first, struggle to say no, overthink conversations, and worry about disappointing people. You may feel lost, disconnected from yourself, and unsure what you truly want. Many of my clients are women who feel stuck between who they are and who they've learned they need to be. Together, we uncover the patterns driving people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, anxiety, and burnout, helping you build healthier boundaries, self-trust, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.

I take a neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and holistic approach, integrating Play, EMDR, movement, polyvagal theory, CBT, ACT, Schemas, Gottman approaches, and mindfulness ...
Life can feel overwhelming when the world isn’t built for the way you think, feel, or process experiences. Many of my clients—children, teens, and adults—struggle with overwhelm, feeling out of control or unsafe, daily functioning, emotional regulation, identity, or relationships. Some seek support in navigating neurodivergence, while others face trauma, anxiety, or depression. Families often feel lost, unsure how to advocate for their children or themselves. My goal is to empower you with understanding, strategies, and confidence to move forward in a way that aligns with who you truly are.

I love integrating somatic and cognitive approaches to healing trauma, C-PTSD, anxiety, stress, burnout, etc.
Working with the mind and the body is the key to true healing and transformation. You've possibly done lots of therapy, you have so much awareness but things still are not changing. Maybe it feels like you're going around in circles, even like you're back at square one. It's not that what you've been doing isn't working, but awareness alone isn't enough. Awareness without embodiment will keep us stuck in those same patterns and cycles of stress, anxiety, burnout, unfulfilling relationships, etc. - this is particularly true for those with C-PTSD when those patterns have been learnt early and are deeply ingrained.

Relational Coaching is my personalised approach to helping people get on with one another and with life. I like coaching as a metaphor because it is positive, outcome orientated and has an everyday feel to it. One way of looking at counselling is to see it as a safe place to say what you need to say, to discover ways of saying what you need to say, to have someone hear (really hear) what you need to say, and to help you say it well!

Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioural therapy work?
Cognitive behavioural therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophising or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioural therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioural therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioural therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
