If life feels overwhelming, full of stress, anxiety, trauma or uncertainty I want you to know that healing is possible with the right support.
Through years of experience working with adults, teenagers, and tweens, I’ve learned that while talk therapy is incredibly effective, combining it with body-based and energetic practices can create deeper, faster transformation. These integrated approaches often help uncover the root of an issue more quickly and powerfully than talk therapy alone.

I am a warm, empathetic and experienced professional counsellor and supervisor, helping both individual clients and couples learn to reduce anxiety, self-regulate, and heal from trauma, addiction, and relationship issues.
As your counsellor, I work with you to meet the challenges in your life as you experience them. In a safe, caring space you are free to express your feelings, be heard and understood: where you can honestly explore your concerns. Together, we can clarify what kind of life you want to live, recognise your strengths and resources, discover your options, increase your self-awareness, and develop strategies to help you live your life the way you choose. My background in the performing arts has given me an appreciation of the incredible diversity in perspectives and choices we make as individuals, and to truly value the human spirit.

As a Psychologist, my passion is to support clients who are working towards their personal growth, assisting them in expanding their understanding of the limiting beliefs and repeated patterns of behaviors that contribute to their emotional symptoms. Using evidence-based therapeutic approaches and working collaboratively towards the clients’ goals, my role is to support clients reframe these thoughts/beliefs and develop new patterns of behaviors aligned with their personal values, which in turn promotes symptom reduction and enables clients to live a more fulfilling life.

If you have felt stuck in anxiety, depression, painful dynamics in your relationship with yourself and others, or if you battle with addiction and compulsive behaviours, know that you are not alone and there is a way through.
Through therapeutic techniques such as Brainspotting and Somatic Experiencing we can work to process trauma and deeper issues to allow you to feel better. In my work I tailor the different treatment modalities to your individual needs and I find the right tools that you can implement yourself outside of sessions.

Many parents and young people reach out when adolescence or early adulthood begins to feel overwhelming, and emotions become difficult to manage alone. I offer a safe, supportive space where teenagers and young adults can feel understood and accepted, without pressure to have everything figured out. Together, we explore what may be contributing to their distress, build practical coping skills, and support the development of confidence, emotional balance, and self-acceptance.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
