Sometimes life doesn’t unfold the way you imagined—you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what comes next. If you’re carrying that quietly, perhaps in a language that isn’t your first, you don’t have to face it alone.
I understand this firsthand. I came to Australia as a migrant, studied in my second language, and built a life here—so the homesickness, the pressure, and the in-between feeling of living across two cultures aren’t just things I’ve read about.
I’m a PACFA Registered Counsellor with a Master of Counselling, offering counselling in Mandarin and English for adults, migrants and international students.

Sometimes things feel like they are too hard. Sometimes we may feel like we are 'stuck' because of a challenging situation or from a past pattern of behaviour that doesn't seem to let us go. Sometimes our thoughts seem to go around and around and take control of our actions. Sometimes, we just don't know which direction we need to head in, or want to head in, and why. These transitions in life need some time to process. And sometimes it feels like nobody understands us and we just need someone to talk to and to find a bit of grounding and presence.

I'm formally trained in IFS (Level 1), attachment and RLT couple approaches, focusing on emotional safety, healthier boundaries and more authentic relationships.
You may look like you're coping on the outside while feeling stuck in patterns you don't understand. I work with adults who grew up feeling unseen, emotionally unsupported, criticised, controlled or responsible for others' needs, and who now struggle with self-worth, boundaries, relationships, anxiety or recurring patterns. I also support individuals and couples through relationship difficulties, including relationship breakdown, and major life transitions such as pregnancy and parenthood – profound periods when old wounds can come into sharper focus.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, self-doubt, or patterns in relationships they don’t understand. You may find yourself overthinking, feeling easily hurt or rejected, struggling with confidence, or feeling disconnected. Often these patterns develop through past experiences and quietly shape how we think, feel, and relate today. In therapy, we slow things down and explore what’s beneath these patterns with respect, care and insight. My clients come seeking clarity, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful change and together we work toward greater emotional balance, self-trust, and stronger relationships.

I integrate Internal Family Systems ( IFS) to help you understand the protective strategies that became necessary to help you cope.
When you've spent so long trying to keep the peace or make sense of someone else's behaviour, it's easy to lose sight of yourself. You may be navigating a relationship shaped by narcissistic traits, recovering from domestic/family violence, or managing family conflict that has left you questioning your reality. Our work together isn't about labelling or diagnosing the people in your life. Rather, making sense of what you've lived through and how it has shaped the way you see yourself and your relationships. Together, we'll gently untangle patterns like self-doubt, people pleasing, and hypervigilance with curiosity and compassion.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
