Jungian Counselling in Mid North Coast, NSW

My method incorporates somatic, body-based exercises, NeuroAffective Touch Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EFT/Tapping and Jungian concepts.
The one constant we all share, regardless of our gender, wealth, race, location or religious beliefs is that we will spend our life in our body. This will also be one of the most confronting, challenging and potentially beautiful relationships we'll ever experience. Can we fully embrace our body? Can we come to terms with the social and cultural factors surrounding our body and, when the time comes to leave our body, will we do so with love and gratitude for how it helped us to connect with ourselves and others? Let's explore those questions together.

Reaching out for support is the hardest step and my job is to make that step as comfortable as possible. My aim each session is to leave you in a better emotional place than when you arrived, with tools for you to achieve and maintain ongoing emotional wellbeing and resilience. I work with a trauma informed, person centred approach. I support you to explore, identify and heal the underlying issues that create conflict, cause disruption or impact your quality of life. I believe trauma to be an experience of anything that takes you away from being your authentic self. Employee Assistance Program, NDIS & NSW Victims sessions available.

Life can be hard sometimes and, even if you think you're more neuro-typical, we are all masking to some degree. Finding a place where we can gradually unmask and be real with what is happening for us might be a little challenging to start but ultimately it's a huge relief! Having a place where you don't have to say anything, but you can say anything, seems to be the most important factor in getting along in the world and feeling less alone. I enjoy being one of those people for people... it's my jam! ...because it's real, I know we all suffer at times, and I feel privileged to sit in that space with a person.

Jungian Counsellors
How does Jungian therapy work?
Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.
How long does Jungian therapy last?
Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.
Is Jungian therapy effective?
According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.
Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?
Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
