Some may explore the patterns and parts that keep showing up (IFS, psychodynamic).
If you've found your way here, something in your life is asking for change. Maybe it's the weight of experiences you've never quite been able to set down. Maybe it's a pattern that keeps repeating no matter how hard you try to outthink it. Maybe it's the quieter ache of feeling far from who you used to be. The people I see are often capable, thoughtful, and quietly tired of carrying it alone. Therapy with me is collaborative and paced to you — grounded in the belief that you are not a problem to be fixed.

Something isn’t quite right. It may be that you can’t stop yourself from worrying. Or you are compulsively avoiding things (places, people, certain situations). Perhaps you find yourself flying into a sudden, uncontrollable, panic. It may be that you are feeling down: you can’t shake the sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness in your life. You may be feeling worthless and guilty too. It could be your relationships that aren’t working (partner, friends, family, boss, or colleagues). Perhaps past experiences are haunting you so that you lose your connection to the present and the people in it. Perhaps it's all of the above.

Here's some examples of how each therapy can help you: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy delves into the past and uncovers the unconscious.
MindBodySoul Psychotherapy is here to help you work through life's toughest challenges. Providing you with a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your inner world. Therapy can help you lower your anxiety, change unhealthy habits, regulate your emotions, process trauma and discover your strengths. I am living proof that a toddler can know - with absolute certainty - what she wants to do with her life. I have always known I wanted to be a therapist. "Let's talk about brains!" was my most popular phrase at age 3.

My approach is integrative and relationally-grounded, drawing from evidence-based therapies including trauma-informed psychodynamic therapy (the Conversational Model), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work with individuals who may feel stuck in painful or repetitive patterns of thinking, feeling, or relating to themselves and others. I have a particular interest in understanding these patterns in the context of early attachment experiences and trauma. My approach is warm, reflective and integrative, with an emphasis on creating a space where deeper exploration feels possible. Together, we seek to understand how the past may continue to shape the present, relationships and ways of coping, and to foster a greater sense of agency and self-compassion.

I offer psychodynamic therapy for adults in Melbourne.
This therapy does not prescribe advice or strategies. Instead, it offers a confidential space where unspoken thoughts can be explored over time—recurring problems, feelings that seem unstoppable, or how different conflicts might relate. This process can give rise to new perspectives that provide relief, and a more spontaneous sense of self.

You are looking for a caring and professional counsellor/psychotherapist to listen compassionately to your concerns, validate your feelings and empathise with your challenges. Working together, we can collaboratively discover how best to fulfil your potential and live your best life. You might be struggling with overwhelming changes, such as grief and loss or life-stage transitions. Or you might be feeling stuck with behaviours that have outlived their usefulness. As Jung said, 'Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.' Self-awareness brings the freedom of making new choices.

We all begin with potentials, tendencies, and unconscious parts that unfold over time. Through a process of self-reflection, willingness to face discomfort, and freedom to choose your own path is to uncover your authentic self. Together we create and allow a space for change and transformation - to become who you truly are. Either in-person or online, one-on-one sessions are in a safe, depth-orientated, trauma-informed and confidential environment. Since 2018 I have worked in the Clinical Services team at Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney and offer specialised support in both suicide prevention and suicide bereavement.

Compassion for the human condition and the premise that we are not passive victims of our circumstances but have freedom to choose how we want to be, are the main foundations I work with. I believe that we all possess the natural self-healing capacity that is seated in the deep center of our being, and I see psychotherapy as the work of finding, unlocking and opening doors through which healing can flow, and seeds towards transformation can be nurtured. I also approach all the suffering and pain that clients present, as an opportunity to use the crisis for personal growth and as a pathway to a deeper connection with the true self.

“This isn’t how I thought my life would turn out.” “This isn’t where I want to be!” When we’re feeling stuck or lost in our life circumstances, it can seem overwhelming and never ending. We feel alone. We can spend our days constantly thinking about what’s gone wrong, and our nights unable to sleep with all the worry. Each day becomes the same as the day before, There seems no end to it, no future without these dark thoughts. Making it harder is the fact that no one understands what we’re going through. No one knows how anxiety, hopelessness or dread can engulf us.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
