I draw on trauma-focused work, IFS, CBT, DBT, ACT, somatic and mindfulness approaches — but the modality is never the point.
If you've found your way here, something in your life is asking for change. Maybe it's the weight of experiences you've never quite been able to set down. Maybe it's a pattern that keeps repeating no matter how hard you try to outthink it. Maybe it's the quieter ache of feeling far from who you used to be. The people I see are often capable, thoughtful, and quietly tired of carrying it alone. Therapy with me is collaborative and paced to you — grounded in the belief that you are not a problem to be fixed.

You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I offer a warm, reflective space where we can explore anxiety, trauma, burnout, grief, identity, and life's challenges at a pace that feels right for you. I work with adolescents and adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we'll make sense of your experiences, explore what lies beneath them, and find new ways of moving forward - through conversation, and when helpful, through art-making.

You may look like you’re coping, but inside you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or not good enough. You might turn to food for comfort, control, or relief, then feel shame, guilt, or self-criticism afterwards. Many of the women I work with carry the impact of early trauma, emotional neglect, or difficult mother–daughter relationships that continue to shape how they feel about themselves. Some feel stuck in patterns they don’t understand, while others are quietly asking, “who am I, really?” and longing for a deeper, more meaningful connection with themselves, their body, and their inner world.

Hi, I'm Claire and I work with people carrying the impact of past experiences. You may be managing a lot on the outside but feel anxious or overwhelmed beneath the surface. These feelings often arise from difficult situations that were intense, frightening, or overwhelming and that happened before you had a chance to protect yourself. You may have learned to push parts of yourself aside, which makes sense given what you have lived through. I’m a psychologist, accredited EMDR practitioner and somatic therapist.

I integrate a range of cognitive therapies with mindfulness practices & art therapies while also considering the impact of societal & family systems.
Navigating the world as a neurodivergent person can be incredibly challenging, especially without adequate support. If you're autistic, have ADHD, are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, or are a trauma survivor, you know the unique hurdles that come with higher rates of trauma and PTSD. Life can feel overwhelming when you're managing sensory differences, executive functioning struggles, and the exhausting work of masking.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
