You might be someone who looks capable on the outside but feels exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck underneath. Perhaps work pressure, exposure to stress or trauma, bullying or conflict, or a major life change has slowly worn you down. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship strain, grief, or the sense that you’ve lost yourself while holding everything together. You’re not looking for quick fixes — you want thoughtful, practical support that helps you feel steadier, clearer, and more like yourself again.

Shaped by my Indonesian-Chinese heritage and life in Sydney, I bring a multicultural, faith-based perspective to every session. By looking at the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual (with your consent) well being, my goal for each client is to empower them to continue their journey with confidence, after our sessions end. My passion is to help couples, especially Christian couples, in building stronger marriages, one that is based on the biblical principles and hope. A strong marriage is the foundation for a strong family. Naturally this will involve fostering stronger communication and relationship skills.

I believe our sexuality is a unique and integral part of who we are, and deeply connected to our sense of well-being. My approach to Sex Therapy combines a comprehensive understanding of integrative health, sexual function and relational psychology. I firmly believe that a healthy sex life is a fundamental human right, and I know for many of us, traditional sex education has been non-existent or misleading. Unfortunately, difficulties in this area can have a profound negative impact on our self-esteem, relationships, and overall well-being. However, it doesn't have to be this way.

As an Educational and Developmental psychologist I support children with a range of issues unique to childhood. These can be emotion dysregulation, trouble with sleep, anxious thoughts leading to avoidance or distress, academic difficulties, bullying or peer difficulties at school, and adjustment issues. At times, parents can wonder if their child presents with symptoms indicative of ADHD, ASD or a Specific Learning disorder. In working with parents and children, it is my goal to help lead them to decision making around assessment, treatment and intervention with the view to supporting children to reach their potential.

Perhaps your relationship feels stuck. Maybe the same arguments keep happening, communication has become difficult, or life simply feels heavier than it once did. Many of the people I work with are couples feeling disconnected or individuals trying to make sense of stress, relationships, or major life challenges. I also work with anxiety, life transitions and questions about where to go from here. Alongside private practice, I lecture in the Discipline of Counselling at the University of Notre Dame Australia and bring many years of experience in counselling, relationship education and family support.

Gottman Method Therapists
How does the Gottman method work?
One of the core doctrines of the Gottman method is that negative emotions hurt relationships about five times more than positive emotions help them. Thus, couples require five times more positive interactions than negative interactions with each other. The therapist will guide clients on how to improve communication and understanding of each other to manage conflict and have their emotional needs met. The therapist will also advise couples on how to repair relations with each other when conflict arises, and therefore avoid lasting damage.

Is the Gottman method evidence-based?
Yes, this method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy. The method is based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the psychologists who developed the method. The Gottmans analysed decades of data to draw conclusions about what types of interactions are likely to lead to specific results, and which interventions are most likely to lead to success. Studies have found that this approach leads to improvements in relationship satisfaction, intimacy, communication skills, and a lower rate of divorce.

How long does the Gottman method take?
The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and an average course of treatment is around 10 sessions. In some cases, such as for couples dealing with a critical problem, the therapist will suggest an intensive course of treatment, with daily sessions over the first two to four days. Treatment is complete when the couple is satisfied and has met the goals they’ve set, and when the therapist believes they have the skills to continue on their own.

Is the Gottman method effective?
Through the Gottman method, couples can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. This treatment has been used for more than 40 years; the method is supported by empirical research, including randomised controlled trials that have demonstrated effectiveness in improving relationship outcomes for couples. Like any talk therapy, success or failure depends in large part on how committed the clients are to making positive changes and working toward results.
