While I work within many different treatment modalities, I prioritise the therapeutic relationship, as evidence suggests a strong relationship predicts the best outcomes for patients.
Hello, my name is Caitlin, and I'm a clinical psychologist practicing at my clinic in Wahroonga. While I take mental health seriously, I try not to take myself or life too seriously. Sessions are relaxed and casual, but I'll also keep you accountable. If it like, bring your dog, a coffee and let's have a chat. Monday and Thursday (face to face or telehealth) Every second Wednesday afternoon (face to face or telehealth) Friday (telehealth)

I counsel individuals and couples, adults and adolescents on various mental health concerns.
My counselling draws on my belief that each client's treatment needs to be individualized to his or her unique history and life story, culture, values, strengths and needs. I believe in creating a safe, supportive and non - judgmental environment in which the client will be treated with respect and confidentiality. It is here that the client is supported in finding their value, healing and strength in resolving their struggles and pain. My sincere wish is for my clients to leave the counselling process changed and equipped with new skills to approach their future with confidence and resilience.

There may be troubles at work with boss or a co-worker, unsettled feelings around in-laws, difficulties in resolving issues with a partner, or even issues within yourself.
I help people to overcome anxiety, stress and depression. I also help with personal and relationship issues. My training includes a few modalities, which always help me to help others. I am, however, a sound practitioner of emotionally focused therapy. It's an experiential modality which suits majority of people.

Hi, I'm Travis, a psychologist from Sydney who works with individuals and couples.
The two main reasons I’ve found in my practice that people put off getting therapy are cost and fear of getting a therapist they don’t gel with. Thinking about it in reverse, therapy is costly, but it's also incredibly valuable. And unfortunately, to find a therapist you’ll gel with might take a few attempts, but I can help you there.

For individuals and couples, I contract with you for an initial set of 5 sessions.
Hi, for the last 20 years I have been working with people who are experiencing challenges in their relationships. Conflict and communication problems often at the heart of these challenges. For many years I saw this when mediating with couples or parents who had decided to separate. Now through counselling I prefer to focus on the source of the problems before its too late. My particular motivation is to prevent conflict having a negative impact on children when they are involved.

Couples Counselling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
