I’m a registered Clinical Counsellor & Psychotherapist. Through my extensive experience, I understand that one size does not fit all. I offer a range of therapies/approaches to suit the individual needs and personalities of my clients. Above all, I value authenticity and transparency in my work with my clients. You will feel safe and understood. You do not need a referral from a doctor to work with me. Psychotherapy generally implies deeper, more insight-oriented work. It is an evidence based therapy and is highly effective with long standing emotional patterns/trauma compared to some conventional therapies.

Using the power of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I support individuals and couples to deepen their emotional awareness, clarify their attachment patterns, and create love that actually feels good to live in.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a research-backed, attachment-based model of therapy that helps people create secure, meaningful relationships. EFT helps break painful communication cycles, rebuild trust after rupture, and create emotional safety that leads to deeper intimacy.

Complex trauma often shows up as anxiety, depression, (complex) PTSD, violence, family conflict and relationship difficulties - I work with individuals, couples and families dealing with these challenges.
Complex trauma can lead to challenges engaging in healthy relationships of all types. It can affect our sense of self, limit identity formation and lead us to feel lost. I'll help you understand complex trauma, its effects and how to navigate your way out. Assessment is a core part of my private practice and in the work I do within Education systems.

Our mental health determines the quality of our lives. How we view ourselves and the world around us determines whether we live fulfilling, meaningful lives, or whether we struggle with feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness and despair. Our emotional wellbeing has an influence on our relationships and career success; it can dictate whether we feel safe and whole, or scared and anxious.

I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and culturally diverse communities navigating trauma, loss, anxiety, relationship growth, or a desire for deeper understanding and self-awareness.
My approach is grounded in neuroscience, compassion, and the belief that therapy is as much about rediscovering possibilities as it is about easing pain. Having personally navigated fertility and life challenges, I bring lived experience, gentleness, and depth to this work.

How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
