EMDR Psychologists and Therapists in Hunters Hill, NSW
I use a blend of therapies depending on a client's needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy (ST) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing ( EMDR).
I'm a Clinical Psychologist who started my practice Introspect Clinical Psychology as I'm passionate about creating a supportive space for people to explore their challenges without judgement. I work with adults (18+), including individuals as well as working with couples. My areas of focus are supporting individuals to improve symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, as well as supporting those who want to recover from harmful coping behaviours. I have an interest in helping individuals work through the childhood origins of their current difficulties, as well as building coping mechanisms and outlets for their distress.

He draws on a range of approaches — including EMDR, somatic and emotion-focused therapies — tailored to each person's needs and pace.
You may be carrying pain that's hard to put into words. Perhaps it's the echo of past trauma, the fog of anxiety or depression, or the quiet ache of grief that doesn't seem to shift. Maybe you've spent years trying to hold everything together, all while feeling like you're falling apart inside. You're tired—of the overthinking, the emotional numbness, the disconnect in your relationships, the constant inner critic. You long for relief, but more than that, you want clarity, self-compassion, and a sense of wholeness. That's where we begin.

I assess across the lifespan and offer trauma-informed therapy using CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, and attachment-based approaches.
Families and adults come to me for clarity. Often a child is struggling at school, a teenager has hit a wall, or an adult has spent years sensing something was missed. Most of my work is assessment: autism, ADHD, FASD, cognitive, educational, memory, and broader neuropsychological assessment, for every age. I use gold-standard instruments, then take time to explain what the results mean and what to do next. I also work with vulnerable children and families in child protection and out-of-home care, and I see clients for trauma-informed therapy alongside assessment.

By the time many people find me, they're often exhausted. They've worked incredibly hard to feel better, yet something still isn't shifting.
Many have tried therapy, read the books, practised mindfulness, or explored nervous system and body-based approaches. Some things may even have helped for a while. But life still feels harder than it should.
If you're wondering why you're still struggling, you're not alone. I work with people who are tired of fighting themselves and ready for a different approach.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimising its ability to trigger anxiety.
