Hi! I am the face behind Butterfly Women's Psychology. I created Butterfly Women’s Psychology as I am passionate about providing support to women through the various changes they encounter in life. These changes may include the perinatal period, perimenopause and beyond, separation and divorce, widowhood (just to name a few). These changes can bring about significant challenges and can be difficult to navigate. The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, hope, and endurance. It is my hope that with the right support, that women can emerge from these transitions feeling stronger and more positively than before.

When women start drifting towards 40 and beyond, something shifts. Nobody warns you. Just all of a sudden, things hit a little differently. There's often an inner rage that is harder to contain. The body is changing and shifting, right along with your tolerance levels. Relationships are becoming a lot more challenging to navigate. Sometimes a sense of despair, and an inner voice asking, 'is this really all there is', can start to get uncomfortably loud. And something else can happen... old wounds we thought we'd long forgotten, start becoming raw again. "I thought I was over this stuff..." - a not infrequent thought.

You look like you're coping on the outside, but inside you're exhausted. You put others first, struggle to say no, overthink conversations, and worry about disappointing people. You may feel lost, disconnected from yourself, and unsure what you truly want. Many of my clients are women who feel stuck between who they are and who they've learned they need to be. Together, we uncover the patterns driving people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, anxiety, and burnout, helping you build healthier boundaries, self-trust, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.

Every person's journey is unique, and I like to understand the background and goals of the people I support to ensure together we create a personalised therapy plan tailored to them. I work with adults, and adolescents and I have a strong interest in supporting people navigating anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, developmental trauma, CTPSD and the myriad of life's challenges. My approach is twofold: I believe in equipping you with immediate tools to cope with present concerns, while also delving into the roots of these issues – be it past events, deep-seated beliefs, or coping mechanisms – to pave the way for a brighter future.

You might be living with the impact of complex trauma - feeling on edge, emotionally overwhelmed, shut down, or stuck in patterns that don’t make sense. Maybe you’ve done therapy before and understand your story, but your nervous system still reacts as if the danger is present. I work with adults healing from complex trauma (CPTSD), developmental trauma, and repeated relational wounds. My approach integrates mind and body - supporting both insight and nervous system regulation so change feels sustainable, not forced. Trauma doesn’t only live in memory. It lives in the body and in protective patterns that once helped you survive.
