Life can throw us curve balls and can be very challenging at times, however how we approach that challenge and difficulty will determine what sort of outcome we get from it. Caroline sees it as a honour and a privilege to support people through some of their most difficult times, as well as, to support them when their aim is to further enrich and advance their lives and relationships. Her approach is very much one of care and understanding. She holds a space that allows you to feel safe to express and share, which can seem difficult during challenging times.

I work with expats and digital nomads who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, or challenges related to cultural adjustment or relationships.
Living abroad can feel disorienting. You might look like you're coping, but inside you’re overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who you are in this new place. You may be juggling work, parenting, or shifting identities while trying to “make it work.” You want to feel grounded again: to rediscover your confidence, regain clarity, and reconnect with the version of you that feels most like home.

I provide a safe, supportive and empowering space where you can explore areas of worry, disconnection or uncertainty in your life.
I believe therapy is a combination of gaining practical resources, and a process of uncovering to reveal who we truly are, and have been all along. Given the opportunity to explore your feelings in a safe space, a sense of movement arises, leading to the most beautiful and embodied self-discovery. Compassion for ourselves is a key on this journey home.

The young people I have helped came to me suffering from anxiety, depression, relationship issues, domestic violence, OCD and ADHD tendencies and low self-esteem.
I help you to understand how your core beliefs about yourself, others and the world cause you unnecessary suffering and how to challenge and replace those beliefs with more healthy ones. I also teach you about the ways our minds work to give you insights into why you do what you do and why you are often not to blame.

Through Gestalt methodology, I supports individuals to inhabit themselves more fully by building personal awareness and by acting as their anchor for them where things may feel a bit rocky. Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
