My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.
I can understand the overwhelming weight of feeling trapped. It might be navigating the complexities of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, surviving domestic violence, or facing family conflict that leaves you questioning your reality. This pain is hard to explain to others, and the fear of being stuck can feel suffocating. It can often make us feel very lonely. However, you don’t have to face this alone. I specialise in helping people explore narcissistic traits, recover from abuse, and reclaiming their lives. Together, we’ll work through rebuilding trust in yourself and others, empowering you to move forward in healing.

I take a relational, creative and trauma-informed approach, and tailor it for every person or group I work with.
Therapy with me includes the body, movement and creative processes and reaches places where talking alone might not. The journey for each client is entirely unique. My job is to create a safe space where you can grow to understand yourself and what is holding you back, then support you to explore, integrate, build confidence, and practice new ways of being.

I work with clients who have experienced trauma that they are unable to release.
I am an IFS informed, Clinical Somatic Psychotherapist. My clinic is adjoining the Lane Cove National Park, and clients can spend a moment ‘nature bathing’ as they prepare and restore their central nervous system for the session. I work across modalities of therapist and coach in an embodied way to support the process. This facilitates both the spoken and unspoken journey, my clients' goals drive each session.

My 14 years as a therapist has focused on supporting people through chronic physical illness, conditions and gut disorders, plus trauma, chronic stress/anxiety and the resulting effects on ones' self worth and quality of life.
Talk therapy alone isn't quite enough. By using dynamic processes through mind, emotions and body, we explore and resolve the underlying cause of your presenting symptoms and difficulties to bring your whole being and life back to a state of balance and ease.

This includes working with trauma, violence and abuse.
Life can throw up sticky moments which can feel experientially ‘heavy’. Where once we seemed to have managed well enough, where now it feels like something else is needed to meet that moment in a more enduring way. I platform a space that is safe, secure and stable that holds our work together in finding a more enduring way forward. “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the process is its own reward”. Amelia Earhart

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
