I work with women navigating anxiety, depression, birth trauma, postnatal adjustment, identity shifts after becoming a mother, relationship difficulties, rage, overwhelm, and intergenerational patterns.
There's a particular kind of tired that comes from holding it all together on the outside while everything underneath feels like it's barely keeping up. With this can come anxiety, overwhelm, rage, and maybe even a sense of having lost yourself somewhere along the way. I work with women across Cronulla and the Sutherland Shire, in person and online, supporting them to create space for what's been asking to be felt, and find their way back to feeling lighter, more resourced, and more in control. Reaching out for support is the hardest step and my job is to make that step as comfortable as possible. My aim each session is to leave you in a better emotional place than when you arrived, with tools for you to achieve and maintain ongoing emotional wellbeing and resilience. I work with a trauma informed, person centred approach. I support you to explore, identify and heal the underlying issues that create conflict, cause disruption or impact your quality of life. I work with adults who feel stuck, particularly where previous therapy has helped but not fully resolved things. This often includes trauma, anxiety, or workplace stress that continues to resurface in similar ways. The focus is on changing the underlying pattern, not just how you react to it. My approach is structured and collaborative, focused on processing experiences while maintaining stability. We work at a pace that feels manageable, adapting within the session to what works best for you, with you remaining grounded and in control throughout.

What matters to me, each and every day is and what I value the most about my work as a therapist is hospitality; being welcomed, attended to, supported, and encouraged. My approach is eclectic and about as far from CBT as you can get. From learning the art of listening at Lifeline, I was drawn to Gestalt therapy, for its dynamic and active approach to therapy. Gestalt therapy is interested in the polarities we experience, how do we support ourselves and find agency in day to day life. I am interested in and work with issues such as grief and loss, change, ageing, forgiveness and what does it mean to live a full life that allows

I am a Masters-qualified counsellor specialising in relationships, narcissistic parenting, and Complex PTSD.
J Adrian Schep— When people first reach out, they often describe feeling desperate, angry, overwhelmed, lost. Some are even afraid to begin, unsure what they will uncover. You may feel as though your life has unravelled, that you no longer belong, or that something essential has been lost. Reaching out often comes at a point where you want to be heard without judgement, to make sense of what has happened, and to find a way forward with steadiness and clarity.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
